" Are you ignoring me?" Part 3

A final place at the table lay the next morning, the spot at the far left corner of the table. Victor's eyes couldn't leave the spot as he waited for it to be filled by the girl he desperately wanted to see. Her footsteps could be heard decending the stairs, only to walk into the kitchen and the metal to be turned on. Victor pushed the large breakfast around his plate as his ears listened to ever small move of the girl. A few minutes later she could be heard going back to her room, cup of tea in hand. As he heard her bedroom door closed he pushed his body off the chair, silently making a plate of food for her as the group watched. Miss Peregrine watching the boy closely with a sad yet knowing smile, letting the boy leave the table with the plate in his hand, leaving his own to go cold on the table. He knocked on the door that he has stood by a few hours ago and waited, the low hum of the record player heard as the girl make a move with her hand as the door opened. He took one step in the room before his eyes met her. She didn't meet his gaze but her letting him in her room was the first achievement. She sat on the window seat of her room, the same and inviting cup of tea sat next to her as she looked out the window. " Breakfast?" He statement more a question as he held the white plate in his hands, her head turned to his direction but never to him " thank you". She mumbled her words, him taking the vocal acknowledgement to him as I sigh to come closer. Slowly putting the plate down on the window seat near her, his own body going to the floor. He sat cross legged with his back against the side of her bed. " Yes?" She asked as he didn't leave her room, his blue eyes flicked to her figure as she directly talked to him. " Are you ignoring me?" The question came out quickly and he mentally scolded himself as his voice sounded harsh, only for her reply to shock him. " Yes Victor, yes I am."
