I stared out the car window as my mom drove to our new house. I sighed at the sight of all the snow falling down.
"Aw come on, Cayley! South Park can't be that bad." My mom said trying to brighten up the mood.
"Mom. I'm moving away from my friends, my school, and my comfort zone." I said as I turned to her.
"Brighten up, Cay! Just think, new friends, new adventures, new boys.." She said smiling.
"I don't believe in love." I said and looked out the window again.
I was never like this before. I believed in love and I would always wait for my prince to sweep me off my feet. However, when I was 9, my dad cheated on my mom. They planned out out a divorce. Isn't love supposed to last forever? Guess I was wrong. This had such a huge effect on me that I stopped believing in it. This includes fairytales, Prince Charmings, love at first sight, happily ever afters, and true love. I decided to enclose myself from any contact of it. We finally arrived at the new house. I step outside of the car and froze.
"Why is it so cold?!" I said as I got my earmuffs, letterman jacket, and scarf put of the car.
"You're just used to the San Diego weather, honey. You'll get used to it." My mom said as she tried to carry a heavy box.
I put my scarf on, so it was covering my mouth. I took the box from my mom.
"Thank you, honey!" She said and went for a lighter box.
"Mff mphfmph." I said through my scarf.
"Why do always do that with your scarf? I can't understand anything you're saying!" My mom laughed as she unlocked the door.
I walked in. There were three bedrooms and had a spiral staircase. I put the box down and pull down my scarf.
"I don't know, it's just comfortable. Oh, and I said 'no problem.'" I said.
We unpacked a little. I go up to my room, unpack my game consoles along with their games, and arranged my room a bit. After we were done, mom took me out to eat. We drove past by the high school that I would be attending. I looked at it with a disgusted face. First day here, and I already dislike my school.
