Cayley's POV
Ever since yesterday, Kenny has been lingering in my head. I lied awake at night at the thought of him. I find myself smiling at random times. Am I..? No! Cayley! Get your life together! I drag myself to school. We had to work in partners. Perfect! A time for me and Kenny to get to know each other a little better. The teacher told us to get up and pick our partners. As I walked to Kenny, a girl, with a similar hair color to mine, stepped in front of me. She wore a red T-shirt that showed a lot of cleavage and short shorts. Her hair was a darker shade of brown than mine.
"Kenny, do you want to be partners?" She asked.
"Sorry, Tammy, but...uh..." He muffled and pointed to me.
"Whose she?" She asked with disgust.
I froze as she stared down at me. I buried my face into my scarf.
"It's okay, Kenny. You can work with her if you want..." I say quietly.
I turn around and work with Kyle instead.
"I see you met Tammy Warner." He says as he mixes the chemistry chemicals.
"Tammy Warner?" I asked as I watch.
"Yeah, she's pretty good at....certain things..." He said.
I knew exactly what he meant by that. I look over at Kenny. Little did I know, Kyle was watching me.
"Is someone jealous?" Kyle teased.
"No, why would I be jealous?" I asked.
"Because you love Kenny." He said.
"I don't believe in love!" I said placing my hand down on the table.
"Sure you don't." Kyle smirked.
The bell rang and I could finally have some time to myself. I sat on my usual bench as I waited for time to pass. The guys came and talked to me.
"Guys, you should have seen Cayley in class today." Kyle started.
"Kyle, don't you dare start." I threatened.
"She kept looking over at Kenny and Tammy. She was so jealous!" He teased.
"Kenny and Tammy would be a perfect couple. Both of them are poor, craving s**..." Cartman said joining in.
"Why would be jealous?! I don't believe in love!" I said.
"You're jealous that Tammy is going to make a move on Kenny." Kyle said.
I look over to Kenny and bury my face into my scarf. I tense up, but not in a good way.
"WHY WOULD I BE JEALOUS OF THAT WH***?!" I yell and run home.
I ran into my room, ignoring my mom, and threw my stuff in a corner. I was angry and confused. I screamed into my pillow until my mom came in.
"Honey, are you okay?" She asked.
"Um...yeah. I'm fine." I said.
"Oh okay! Today I met a new family and I invited them to dinner." She said smiling.
"Oh cool. Who?" I asked.
"The McCormicks." She smiled and left.
McCormick... Why does that last name sound so familiar?
