Cayley's POV
"Well what will you call me after I do this?" He says and leans forward.
A light blush formed across my face and my heart started to flutter. He gave me a quick peck on my lips, then into a full kiss. I was shocked and punched him away.
"MCCORMICK!" I yelled.
"McCormick it is." He smirks.
"Time is up!" Stan yells and opens the door.
The bright light blinds me. I stand up and stand behind Wendy. I notice that my blush was still lingering on my face. It was pretty much awkward the rest of the night. Wendy's mom dropped me off and, again, my mom wasn't home yet. I ran upstairs and closed the door. I quickly changed and flopped down on the bed. I turned on the T.V and flipped through all the channels, stopping at a movie that I would always watch as a kid. Half way through, there was a knock on my window. I rolled onto my back and onto the floor to open the window for the cloaked boy.
"Well, isn't it my favorite hero." I say and he climbs through.
"How are you this evening, Cayley?" He asks.
No words were able to come out of my mouth, instead they were filled with um's and well's. He just smiles at me. I take a deep breath and word flooded out.
"Kenny McCormick kissed me tonight!" I say quickly.
He looked up in shock.
"And how did you feel about that?" He asks.
"Well, I don't know. My emotions were all over the place....but I'm glad he did. Because of him, I know what it feels like to believe in love again." I blush.
He doesn't do anything, but smile.
"You better not tell him!" I say with my blush getting darker.
He just laughs.
"Speaking of McCormicks, do you know Karen?" I ask.
"Yeah, I'm her Guardian Angel." He says.
"Take care of her and as well as the rest of the McCormick family. I would do anything to help them." I say.
"Well then, I'm gonna visit Karen now. I'll be back tomorrow." He smiles.
"Good night, Mysterion." I say and shut the window as he leaves.
~The Next Morning~
After reluctantly leaving my bed and changing, I noticed my mom was still gone. I looked over to the dinner table, the food I made her was still there from last night.
"Did she not come home last night?" I ask myself.
I hear the front door unlock. My mom stumbles in and walks in all wobbly. I looks at me and plasters on a big grin.
"Cayley! How are you doin'?" She asks as she stumbles towards the couch.
"Mom. Where were you last night?" I ask.
She falls onto the couch and starts to laugh uncontrollably. I go to sit down next to her, but a certain smell stops me.
"Mom." I say.
She looks up at me.
"Where did you go last night." I say with a stern tone.
"I went *hic* out with a few friends." She says still laughing and smiling.
"You got drunk...didn't you?" I ask.
She doesn't respond. I was infuriated. Not only did she get drunk, but she made me think that she was actually working at her job for us. Besides, my mom never drinks and always declines. I blew a fuse.
"Wow mom. Are you proud of yourself? Are you proud that you left your only daughter here, home alone, while you went out to drink? How long have you been doing this?" I ask.
I can hear her mumble "a couple of weeks."
"You were my role model. Always, politely, declining drinking, but no. You went ahead and freaking messed it up." I say and head towards the door.
"And where do you think you're going?" She yells at me.
"I'm going to school! Someone has to learn how to fix the mistakes you made!" I say and slam the door shut.
At school, things weren't that much easier, thanks to Tammy freakin Warner. She continued to spread rumors about me and occasionally cause me physical pain.
"So, Cayley. Word has it that your mom is a heavy drinker. You must get your personality from her." Tammy says as she leans over my desk.
I let out a sigh and lean back into my chair.
"What's wrong, Cayley? No stupid remarks today? Or is it that you're still drunk?" She smirks.
Kenny went up to her and told her to get lost. She moved towards Bebe and Wendy, still glaring at me.
"I didn't need you help, McCormick." I say.
"Of course you did. Still calling me McCormick, I see." He mumbles.
"Shut up. I'm just upset right now." I say.
"I have something to take your mind off of it." He smirks and tried to hand me one of his PlayBoy magazines.
"I'm not that perverted, McCormick." I say.
"You're not THAT perverted? Meaning that you're still perverted." He smirks.
"N-No! I read fanfics and sometimes they have...that in them!" I say.
"Really? And what are those called?" He says.
"Lemons.." I say.
"Do you write fanfics?" He asks me.
"Sure, every now and then." I say.
"Well, then. You should write a lemon...of us." He smirks.
I start to blush darkly.
"No way, McCormick!" I yell at him.
"I know you want to." He says continuing to smirk.
"Shut it, McCormick!" I yell, but end up laughing.
He laughs and the class begins. I continuously looked at the clock, dreading at the thought of returning back home and getting lectured by my mom. Our teacher gave us sometime to work on our essays about a person that affected our lives. Everyone had a couple of paragraphs already and then there was me, who didn't even start yet. I didn't even have an idea of a person to write about. I sigh at the sound of the bell. I dragged myself home and unlocked the front door. I expected my mom to be standing right in front of me with a spoon to stab me with, but she wasn't. I looked around the house and calling for her, until I found a note on my desk in my room.
Cayley, I was thinking about what you said this morning and you're right. A good mother is supposed to be honest with her kids and be there for them. I have gave up my drinking days and returned to my previous life. My better life. The one I'm proud of. Thank you, Cayley, so much for knocking some sense in me. I hope you can forgive me. I'll be home later on tonight. I decided to work as much as I can. Don't worry, I will restrain myself from any type of drinking. I love you so much. Love, Mom.
I smile at the note and walk into my bedroom. I finally got an idea. I stare up in surprise.
"Took you long enough." Mysterion says lying in my bed.
"What the heck." I say.
