Chapter 9
Today was the last day of the festival, which also meant the last day with Dylan. He was going to the South of France and I was going back to Holland. I am going to miss him so much, but I know this long distance relationship will work. The love between us is strong that it will stay like this forever.
I know the night is over when we hear the last song of the festival. I kiss Dylan hoping he'll never let go. Eventually I have to catch my breath so I let go.
"It's over, this week is over. Please don't leave," I say with tears in my eyes.
"It is not over Laine because..." He doesn't finish.
"Because I love you." "I love you, Dylan" We say at the same time. We laugh.
He kisses me and it feels never ending. The kiss breaks when someone shouts party time and we are led, between a group of people, to a party.

We dance all night and the sun almost rises. I never want to let Dylan go, ever! A slow number comes up and we slow dance.
"Hey Laine. You okay? You've been awfully quiet tonight."
"I'm fine. It's just upsetting. The night is almost over and we won't see each other for so long." I look into his eyes and I want the time to stop, here and right now.
"Don't worry we'll figure it out," I nod.
"And Laine, remember I love you," Dylan smiles.
Tears start streaming down my face and I kiss Dylan, which surprises him.
"I love you too," and with that I know everything will be okay.

Dylan runs out with some friends while I try and find Jess and Jock. I know they must be here somewhere.
I decide to leave and see if they are at their tent, but I get stopped.
"Laine," Artie calls.
"What, do you want? Can't you just leave me alone?" I say madly.
"Don't go out. Trust me."
"Artie, you can't tell me what to do. So can you please give it a rest."
"Laine, listen to me!" Artie tries to come close to me.
"Do... not take a step closer, you got me?"
I turn around and run outside, hearing my name faintly called in the background.
Tears appear in my eyes but I just pretend they aren't there. All I want now is to try find Dylan and tell him Artie is back and trying to assult him again. I can't find him anywhere so I run to his tent. He isn't there either. I run to our tent and find Jess and Jock laying in the tent. I slowly open the tent and see them sleeping, peacefully. I slowly wake up Jess. She wakes up in shock.
"Laine, where have you been?"
"I'm sorry, it's such a long story. But listen to me. Artie has tried to attack me," I lie.
"Attack you? But --,"
"Listen, I am going to try find Dylan and I'm leaving. I can't go back to Holland, I'm not ready. I hope you understand and please tell Jock that too."
"But Laine, Artie is just trying to protect you."
"Protect me? The idiot wants me and Dylan apart. I'm sorry but that's not his job," Now I'm shouting, I can't believe what Jess just said.
"Girls, what's going on?" Jock is out of the tent with his eyes only half open.
"Do you really think Artie is trying to protect me, Jock?" I ask.
"Laine..."
"Tell me Jock, tell me. Do you really think Dylan is just like Xavier?"
"Laine..."
"No I get it. I'm getting my stuff and leaving. Have a nice life."
"Laine, listen to me." Jess tries to grab my arm.
Jock and Jess are both looking in direction and they look frightened. I turn around to get lose from Jess's grip. I'm about to run but can't believe my eyes...
