Chapter 10
Artie was right! He is a drug dealer! How could he do this to me! After what I told him!
I feel dizzy and nausceous. I don't know what happened to me. I only had one drink! Everything around me sounds distant, my ears throb, but I don't hear any loud music. I fall to the ground but get caught by someones strong arms. The last thing I see, before I black out, is Dylan's concerned face.

I'm standing in a field of grass, isolated in the middle of nowhere. The sun is bright and the day is damp. I run as fast as I can trying to find someone who can help me. I stumble over a large object, formed like a smaller version of a guitar. I pick it up and hold it in my hands. It is beautifully detailed with black paint. It is covered with soft wood, so slippery, it might fall. Randomly, I start playing it. I had never touched a violin before.
The sun shines through the green, forgotten trees. Birds tweet along with the tune I play. I feel peaceful. When the tune finishes, everything stops. The wind, the sun, the birds. Darkness!
The violin disappears as I clutch onto the charm around my neck. A long silver chain with a small Eiffel Tower hanging from my neck.
I close my eyes, as I fall into the darkness. I land with a loud thump. I slowly open my eyes. In front of me a figure stands, wearing a dark hood, calling my name.
"Adelaine, Adelaine," a frightening voice calls.
I know whos voice it is. I clutch onto my necklace and close my eyes. I feel the figure come closer towards me. I tense up.
"Leave me alone Xavier!" I shout.
"But Laine, I miss you! I want you back."
"LEAVE ME ALONE!" I shout even louder.
Everything goes silent and it feels like everything has disappeared. I slowly open my eyes. Xavier is gone but I am still standing in the room. I fall to the ground. In the distance I hear my name. A familiar voice... Dylan.
"Dylan?" I call out.
"Laine, can you hear me? Squeeze my hand once if you can hear me," Dylan whispers.
"Dylan, I can't..." I get cut off.
"Laine! Oh my! Is she okay?" I hear Jock's voice say.
I hear a sob in the background. And that's when I feel it. His soft embrace around my hand. I don't see it but I feel it. As I'm about to squeeze, Dylan let's go. I don't feel it anymore.
"Sorry, sir. You must leave," a nurse says
"But, she..." Dylan tries to say.
"Leave Dylan! You did this to her," Artie blurts out.
I hear Dylan's footsteps leave the room but I don't want him to go. It's not his fault, I forgive him. I try to speak, but I can't.
"Dylan?"
"Dylan?"
"Dylan," I softly say.
I open my eyes to a white ceiling and the sound of a monitor buzzing.
