shawn mendes had always been the quiet, sweet, guy in my photography class.
we had fifth period together, and i never really thought anything of him.
sure, i definitely though he was attractive; but so did 90% of the girls in that class.
he wasn't exactly popular, nor was he one of those annoying jocks.
but if he wanted to, he could be the most popular kid in the school- especially with his good looks.
we had only talked a few times, but today during class our eye contact was starting to make my stomach flip.
"alright, class. today i will be partnering you up with somebody in the class. these pairs will consist of one boy and one girl. your project is to use to one of the cameras from the back of the room, and take the best photo of the person you are paired up with. both partners will take pictures and be photographed. by the end of the class, you should have at least five good pictures of your partner."
i loved taking pictures, it had always been something i was interested in; so i really didn't mind this assignment.
in fact, it seemed fun.
"here are the partners;" mrs. higgins began.
"ellie and john,
chris and carly,
carmen and josh,
shawn and y/n."
she continued, but i stopped listening.
shawn's eyes traveled over to me, and his tongue swiped across his lips.
he got up and walked towards the back of the room, grabbing a camera from the table.
as he walked back towards me, i could feel his intense gaze on me.
he pulled out the seat next to me and sat down.
"hey." he gives me a charming smile.
i return the smile and greet him.
"so i was thinking we could go outside to get natural lighting." he suggests.
"great idea, let's go."
we got up from our chairs and exited the classroom, walking in the halls.
"so, y/n. tell me about yourself, i wanna get to know you." he gives me that cute smile.

we were currently outside, and i was sitting on a few steps.
shawn was taking pictures of me, and i was trying my best to pose.
i felt so awkward and insecure, i could never be a model.
"shawn, have we even got any good ones yet?" i chuckle.
"yeah, it's pretty easy to get a good photo when you're the model." he winks.
a light blush creeps onto my cheeks.
"alright, come here; come look at this one." i walk over and crouch down next to him, looking at the camera.
while he's pulling the picture up, i take time to study him.
our faces were dangerously only inches apart.
he had a really nice jawline and very defined cheek bones.
his eyes were a hazel color, and you could tell that they would change colors often.
his brown curly hair was so fluffy, and one curl dangled on his forehead.
"y/n?" his voice snapped me out of a trance.
"sorry." i see a light smirk on his face.
"it's alright, i know you were staring." he winks and looks at the picture on the camera, and i have to admit, i looked pretty decent.

"wow, you're a good photographer." i smile.
"once again, like i said, it's all because of the model." i blush again.
"let me show you the one i got of you." he hands me the camera as i quickly find the camera.
"here it is."

he looked like a full on model.
"i think mine was better." he teases playfully.
"whatever." i laugh.
"um, y/n? there's something i've been wanting to ask you." he looks down at his fingers.
"alright." i give him a soft smile.
"ok, so i know that i probably seem the quiet guy to you; the one you always pass by and never think about it. i'm always in the background and i barely ever talk to you, well, because, i'm quiet. but, will you go on a date with me?"
i smile, i'm still unsure.
i barely know him.
"shawn, i don't really know you."
"just give me one night, i'll promise you'll see me in a new light. you'll get to know me, and i'll get to know you better."
he smiles that charming smile, and i can't resist.
"tomorrow at 7, pick me up." i smile and stand up, walking away, leaving him there with a huge grin.
