song for the chapter: kid in love by shawn mendes

Y/N and Shawn lay there, thinking about the time they were spending right now.

"I really do love you." Shawn sighed.

"I really do too, Shawn." You answered.

Dad.

Mum.

This is so wrong.

"Why are we doing this, to prove a point? To show that your family or my family should be trusted?" I blurted.

"Maybe we're just kids in love. When we're alone and it's the two of us, I can't get enough." Shawn answered, his rosy pink cheeks turned into a grin.

"But we shouldn't be doing this." I sighed heavily.

"I'm not one to break rules." I looked down.

"Look at me, babe." Shawn's finger and thumb lift up my chin, sending a creeping blush to my cheeks.

"What we're doing isn't wrong, it just isn't the best thing to do." Shawn pointed out.

I giggled, I love Shawn so much. He's the best thing that's ever happened to me, ever.

I pecked his nose, "you don't know how much you mean to me unfortunately."

Why do we have to keep sneaking around, just because of our parents? This stupid so called "feud" is ridiculous.

Apparently in my dad's words "the Mendes' can't be trusted."

And I'm sick of all of it.

Thump , thump , thump

Angry footsteps clattered through my humongous backyard.

I whipped my head around to see a figure, not clearly made out.

The figure grew closer and I swear my heart skipped a couple of beats.

"Shawn you need to leave." I pecked his lips.

"What, why?"

"My dad is coming. I love you so much baby boy." I answered pecking his cheek.

He kissed my jawline quickly then threw on his jacket.

His last words to me before he disappeared in the twilight were, "when you fall asleep tonight just remember that we lay under the same stars."

"Why are you out so late young lady?" Echoed a voice.

"Dad." I sighed.

"Just needed to clear my mind." I added.

"About that boy?" He sighed in utter hate.

I shook my head no, lying.

"You have to understand what we're doing is to protect you, we love you." He said.

I nodded my head without saying anything.

The stars were out and they were very bright, looking amazingly beautiful.

The last words Shawn said to me echoed through my head.

When you fall asleep tonight just remember that we lay under the same stars.
