*Enjoy!❤*
I take a deep breath and look out the window to distract me. I feel his hand leave my leg and my heart calms down while my body becomes cold. We pull up to the library and park the car.
*Ding*
"Hey Macy," Carson says standing up. "What can I do for the only bookwarm in this small town?"
I laugh. "I'm here to return a book."
"And let me guess, take one with you?," he asks.
"You know me so well," I say touching my heart. "Here you go."
I hand him the book and watch him check it back in.
"Okay, you're all set," he says.
I smile and look at Jesse as he stands on his phone.
"Come on," I say.
He looks at me and follows me to my signature spot. I grab my favorite book and lay on the floor.
"What are you doing?," Jesse asks.
"Reading," I say opening the book.
"I thought we came here to drop off a book?," he laughs.
"We did," I say. "But everytime I come to return a book, I sit and read a chapter of a book I'm reading and then pick a book to take home."
"Ahh," he says. "Well okay."
*Ring, ring*
He looks at the caller ID and rolls his eyes.
"It's Daniella," he says. "I'll be back."
He answers the phone and walks away. All I could think was, why is she calling him? What does she want? I got my answer when he came back.
"I gotta go see her," he says. "She said her grandfather is dying and she can only talk to me."
"Oh, okay," I say. "You can just take my car and come get me later."
"Are you sure?," he asks. "Let me just take you home and I can take my car."
"Really Jesse, it's fine," I say. "I want to continue reading this chapter."
He sighs. "Okay, I'll be here later to come pick you up."
He leaves and I hear the doorbell go off. I sigh and continue on with my books.

I felt bad leaving Macy there by herself but she offered. I drove a few blocks away to a park that Daniella told me to meet her at. I parked Macy's car and to get out. I see Daniella sitting on a bench with her head in her hands. She lifts her head when I approach and looks at me with makeup smeared eyes. I sit down next to her and she throws herself on me. My body stiffens and I carefully push her off of me. Macy and I may not be dating for real but we're in a public area; and if anyone saw Daniella on me like that, rumors would spread like wildfire.
"What happened?," I ask her.
She looks away from me.
