When you decided to visit your boyfriend Cale at UMass, you hadn't realised that it would be shark week at the same time. You also hadn't realised that you had run out of painkillers. So now you were waiting in Cale's room curled up against his pillow, trying to get over the worst of it.

Hearing the door, you quickly bounced up and ran towards Cale, trying not to display the pain you were feeling. "Hey, babe," he said softly, pulling you into his arms and you were grateful for the added warmth.

The two of you ended up sitting on his small bed, eyes trained on your laptop where you were watching The Office. However, your cramps hadn't eased up in the slightest and you tried to move into a position that would make them more bearable. And Cale must have noticed your squirming because he soon paused the episode and turned to face you.

"Babe, what's wrong?" he asked, concerned.

"It's nothing, don't worry about it," you clenched the duvet in pain.

"Don't lie to me. I know when you're not okay. Please tell me what's wrong."

"I, uh, started this morning and I have really bad cramps," you said quietly and you blushed with embarrassment. The two of you had never really discussed this stuff and although you loved and trusted Cale, you weren't sure how he would react.

"You don't need to be embarrassed," he smiled, "I mean it happens to half of the population. I'll just go and grab you some painkillers, okay."

"Thank you," you rolled onto your side, holding your stomach.

Cale returned quickly with a glass of water and a pill in hand and you swiftly took them from him, eager to reduce your pain.

"Is there anything else I can do to help?" he watched you.

"Can we just cuddle?" you put down the glass and reached out for his hand.

Climbing over you, Cale settled down behind you and slung an arm over your waist, occasionally rubbing small circles on your stomach. He also pressed small kisses to the back of your neck and shoulders and you sighed deeply, the medicine starting to kick in.

"Thank you," you whispered.

"You don't have to say thank you, I'm just doing what I think any guy should do."

"I love you, Cale."

"I love you too, (y/n). Even when you stop me from watching The Office."

You giggled softly at that before closing your eyes and slowly falling asleep in his arms.
