You rushed to the door at the sound of the bell and ran your hands over your hair before opening it to see Jamie holding a bouquet of flowers. "You look gorgeous, (y/n)," he smiled, "I, uh, got these flowers for you. I didn't know what kind you liked so I chose these ones because I thought they were pretty and-"

"Jamie, I love them," you cut him off, giggling. "I'll just go and put them in a vase," you reached over, taking the bouquet from him.

Jamie followed you into your apartment and suddenly the smell of the flowers overwhelmed you and you sneezed loudly, eyes watering slightly. "Bless you," Jamie said before you sneezed again, once, twice, three times. "Are you okay? You're not allergic or anything?" he asked worriedly.

"Oh it's nothing," you smiled, "just a bit of hay fever," before sneezing again. Jamie grabbed the bouquet from you before opening his mouth.

"I am so sorry, (y/n), I had no idea. It's just that Seggy said that you love flowers so I thought it was a good idea," he rambled.

You laughed. "Seggy's a little shit. He knows I have hay fever. How about we forget the whole flower thing and get started on this date?"

Jamie beamed and put the flowers down the counter before gingerly stretching his hand out to yours and intertwining your fingers, leading you out of the apartment.

You walked to the restaurant, relaxing in the summer heat and swinging your joined hands. Jamie chose a burger place, something his nutritionist wouldn't thank him for, and you spoke about everything from his hockey to your childhood growing up next door to Tyler.

At the end of the meal Jamie moved to pay but you reached and placed your hand over his, "Come on, Jamie," you said softly, "let's split it."

"No way, (y/n). It's the least I can do after I tried to murder you with flowers," he grinned as you started laughing.

"Okay, but I'm paying next time."

"So there's going to be a next time then."

As you strolled back to your apartment, Jamie slung his arm over your shoulder and you leaned into his side, grateful for his warmth now that it was slightly chilly. "I would do the gentlemanly thing and offer you my jacket only I didn't bring one," he gazed down at you.

"Oh, Jamie," you looked up at him, "first the flowers and now this." You both giggled and Jamie rubbed his hand back and forth along your upper arm in a futile attempt to warm you up.

As you reached your door, you turned around to find Jamie already watching you. "Thank you for a wonderful night. I had a great time and I would love to do it again sometime," you said, looking up into his deep brown eyes. Jamie smiled slowly and softly, a blush rising to his cheeks.

"I was hoping there would be a next time," he murmured, stepping closer to you.

He bent his head down towards yours, leaning it slightly, and you tilted your's upwards, faces just inches apart. "Would it be okay if I kissed you?" he whispered. You closed the gap, answering for him. He pressed his lips gently against yours, wrapping his arms around your waist as you put yours around the back of his neck. It was perfect.

He pulled away slowly. "Wow," you breathed and Jamie's cheeks turned pink again, both of you removing your arms from each other. You stared into his eyes again before reaching into your bag for your keys and turning around to unlock the door. Spinning around, you faced Jamie again and he looked at you fondly. "Bye Jamie," you spoke softly.

"Bye (y/n). I'll see you soon," he turned on his heel mid-grin and walked down the hallway. A minute later your phone buzzed and you grabbed it from your bag, reading the message.

Jamie: Wow
