Nico's PoV

For some ungodly reason, I woke with the sun. Ugh. Not that Apollo isn't an okay guy, or anything.

I wiggled around a bit, trying to get into a more comfortable position so I could stay in bed. Will's warm arms were wrapped loosely around my waist, and his chin rested on my head. I soaked in his warmth, relishing the feel of his smooth skin on mine.

Sure, we sleep shirtless. Will likes to trace the scars and tattoos across my back; who am I to stop him?

A sudden chill swept over the room. I looked up to see a shadowy figure that somewhat resembled my father standing in the corner, gesturing to me. I moved to stand, but he stopped me and sharply tapped the back of his wrist ten times. Meet me in ten minutes. He pointed at me with two fingers. Both of you. The shadowy form disappeared in a poof of black smoke, and I sighed. Dad had another job for us.

I flipped myself around and stroked Will's face. His eyes fluttered open at my touch, as they always do, instantly awake.

"Hey, Sunshine. Dad's got a job for us," I murmured.

Will hummed curiously. It has been a while since Dad asked us for a favor. "Any idea what it is?"

"Nope. He just sent a shadow and signed that he wanted us to meet him in ten minutes."

"Well, in that case, we'd better get ready," Will said, hopping out of bed. He dragged me up, chuckling at my reluctance. I sifted through our dresser in search of something to wear and found a pair of ripped black jeans and a loose-fitting black tee.

I pulled them on and turned around to see Will already dressed and ready to go. He wore silver-gray slacks and a sky-blue button-down dress shirt. The unruly mop of golden hair atop his head had been tamed somewhat. He looked hot.

"Will, sunshine, not that I'm complaining, but why are you all dressed up? We're just going to get a job from Dad," I said, moving to stand in front of him.

Will frowned. "I know, but I want to make a good impression. After all, I'm just a son of Apollo and he's the king of the Underworld."

I couldn't help but laugh at that. "Will, really? Three things: one, Persephone adores you, so by extension, Dad does as well. Two, you have met my father several times, you'd know if he didn't like you." I paused for a breath. "And three, do you remember when Dad called a meeting of the Olympians? He stormed into Olympus, demanding that we be made gods when we died. Not just me, both of us. And when Zeus threw a fit because he 'didn't want more powerful gods,' Dad practically cussed him out in front of the whole Olympian council, threatening to drag him to the Pit if he didn't promise to make both of us gods."

That seemed to reassure him somewhat, but Will still looked skeptical. "I suppose so. We should probably go, it's been about ten minutes."

I grabbed Will's hand, lacing our fingers together and dragging him backwards into a shadow to transport us to Hades's throne room.

Hey, there's chapter 1! Thanks for reading, you all, I appreciate it.

In case you are confused about the  'signing,' it is a simple system of silent communication Nico and Will made up for when the gods had a mission first them. For those of you who know sign language, I am well aware that it was not proper sign language.
