Chapter 1

When Neji Hyūga and I first met it was like one of those typical Middle school movies. He and I were in almost every class together. We didn't talk at all. Until one day our English teacher puts us in a pair to do this assignment and then three months later, we're friends!

[Present day]

"Y/N!!!" I sit up quickly at the loud voice of my father. Looking to my side the time appeared on the clock. "8:12. Hm..." it took me about 3 minutes to realise what was wrong.

"GET UP FOR SCHOOL IT'S LATE!!!"

Fuuuuuuuuuck

I bolted to the bathroom and jumped in the shower pelting off all the clothes I wore. I hurriedly got out the shower later and ran to grab whatever clothes was there. Then I rushed back and began furiously brushing my teeth.

I brushed so hard blood drew. "Dammit!" "Y/N! THE BUS WILL BE HERE IN 3 MINUTES GIRL!" "Coming dad!!!"

I spat out the blood and grabbed a comb running down the stairs still combing my hair. Until I was out the door I realised I forgot something.

My bookbag.

Just then the bus came! I had to run back upstairs and grab my bag. When I ran back out, it was gone!

I was late. This is my fault. I should have slept earlier.

So many things ran through my mind. Dad thought I was gone. I was right outside stranded. To get to school by foot it took an hour! I had to walk.

I began to run after the bus yelling. "WAIT!!!" Children stuck their head out and began laughing hard. "WAIT!!!" The driver couldn't hear me, and nobody bothered to tell him anything.

I stopped running, out of breath and tired. To my luck, my best friend for 2 years came pulling up to me in his car. "Neji." "Get in." He shot me a smile and I got in.

When we arrived at school, I got out the car and he locked it. "You're lucky I was there." I grinned wrapping my arm around his shoulder. He was taller. "I know. What could I have done without you!"

He wraps an arm around my waist and picks me up. "Whatever~" He walked into the school with me on his back. Some people gave us looks. We looked like a couple but we aren't.

Yes I have a huge crush on him, but he would never return my feelings.

"Earth to y/n, we're at your locker." I climbed off and kiss his cheek. "Thanks Neji." After grabbing my Maths book we walked off to class together. Neji met up with his friends Ten-ten and Rock Lee. They shot me a look and then looked away.

"Hey Neji, ready for class?" I asked him. He turned and smiled at me. "Yeah let's go." We walked off together heading off. When we entered, there were already students there. All talking about the junior summer dance coming up next week.

I didn't have a date. I didn't exactly need one. We sat together and began talking. Neji cracked a few jokes causing me to laugh. I did the same back and we both giggled tell our stomachs began to hurt.

Neji then asked me a strange question. "You have a date for the dance?" I shook my head a no. "I didn't really wanna go. Why do you ask? Do you have one?" Neji was one of the most attractive boys here at High school. I'm positive he already has a secret girlfriend, or he's been asked out already and said yes. "No I don't have a date. In fact, I wanted to know if you would like to go with me. You know, as friends."

I forced a smile. That hurt.

"Sure!" He nodded and side hugged me. "Thanks y/n." Then Iruka sensei walks in annoying us all.

"Morning everybody! Ready for your favourite subject?!! MATHEMATICS!!!"

"NO!!!!"
