Chapter 27

I stood in the corner of the stadium watching as everyone danced. I came alone. I wore a short silky dress. It was black. It had the Uchiha crest at the back and white stars as the design. My hair was curled to the side and I wore no make up.

I took another cup of champagne and happily drank it. Neji walked over to me. He gave me a small smile. He looked amazing. A nice neat tux. A real bow.

"Hey." It was like we were the only two people. Then again. There was his new girlfriend. The slut.

Neji came closer and held my hand. "Why aren't you dancing? Where's your date?" I shrugged pulling my hand away. "Why are you talking to me? I thought I was trash."

He frowned. "Y/n. I'm sorry." Neji told me. I shook my head a no and walked away. "Go bother your girlfriend." He grabbed me from behind and turned me around. "Listen y/n! Please!"

I stared at him. "What Neji!?" "I sent you those letters. I still love you. Do you still love me?! That's the question." I looked into his eyes.

"I still love you too. But we can never work. You were right! You're still dating Ten-ten. Go with her." Neji's soft hands held mine and once more it was like we were together again.

Neji lifted my chin. "It may not be our destiny to be together, but it's our destiny to share this one last kiss." "Neji-" he cuts me off placing his soft lips on mine.

I kiss him back. Neji deepens the kiss and I deepened it as well. We broke away and Neji placed a hand on my cheek. "I will always love you." Ten-ten showed up and cleared her throat loudly. "Babe!" She yelled.

He turned around and gave her that fake smile. "Hey babe." They walked off hand in hand. The slow dance came and everyone hugged their partners close. I was the only one without a dance partner.

I felt a tap on my shoulder and looked up seeing a pair of beautiful blue eyes. I knew right away who it was. "Naruto." He had my walk with him to the dance floor and we got in our positions.

We held each other close. "Y/n. That proposal was for you." He said in my ear. I smiled. "Figured." He chuckled and kissed my forehead. "Yup. Hinata's a nice girl to look at. But she's not my type."

The dance stopped and Tsunade-sensei walked up on stage. She opened a card and began announcing the prom king and queen. "Goodnight students of 2019! As you all may know, you're graduating next year! We hosted the prom early because why not! Now! First off we have the prom king!"

I didn't really care. "Sasuke Uchiha!" The light shined on Sasuke. He fixed his tie and walked up on stage. Sakura and all the other fan girls squealed. Sasuke placed the crown on his head and thanked Tsunade. "Thank you Tsunade-sensei and everyone else that voted for me."

Sasuke didn't seem to care. Sakura started squealing. "I'm Prom queen!" "The Prom Queen is..." Tsunade-sensei looked confused but said it anyway. "Y/n L/n!" Wait what?!

I got applauded by everyone. Naruto and Neji were the loudest. I got up on stage and took my crown. Sasuke gave me a small smile.

We danced together holding each other close. "This is not fair!!" Sakura screeched. When the dance was done Naruto came over to me and got on his knees. "Woah!" I freaked out. "No. Listen y/n." He took out a little black box and took out a sapphire crystal ring from it.

Naruto slipped it on my finger. "Would you be my girlfriend?" I smiled brightly and wrapped my arms around his neck kissing him deeply. "Of course."

Neji gave me a bright smile and a thumbs up. I knew that Neji would be happy for me. I knew....Neji and I both know, that this was better for the both of us. Naruto made me truly happy, but I will always hold a place for Neji in my heart. Even if he treated me like trash.
