To be honest, this chapter is kinda filler. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy.

The dust cloud began to disappear as two silhouettes begin to appear from the cloud.

After what seems like years of anticipation, the dust finally blows away.

Morty began to gasp as he saw the position of the two silhouettes. Ash looked closer and saw that one figure was on the ground, while the other was standing on top of the defeated triumphantly.  "It appears, I lost.," said Morty.

Bagon was standing tall next to the defeated Gengar nearby. "We did it! We did it!" exclaimed Ash.

"Well done, Ash," said Mr. Joban clearly pleased with himself.

"Ash, I never thought you had it in you to beat me, but I was wrong," said Morty returning his beaten Pokemon.  Ash and Bagon then hugged victoriously. "That was a great battle anyways Morty!" said Ash.

"Well, Ash it appears you are the better trainer. I would like to give you this." Morty hands Ash a Pokeball. "It is a Ghastly. Treat it with care, Ash."

"Thanks, Morty! Why are you giving my Ghastly anyways?" asked Ash.

"You see I can be a bit busy taking care of my gym so I don't have time to take care of that Ghastly. Also, I see that you have the potential to become a good Pokemon trainer," replied Morty.

"Really? Thanks, Morty!" Ash said. "Come now Ash, there is no time to dally," said Mr. Joban walking into Viridian City.

"Bye Morty!" said Ash before running to catch up to Mr. Joban. "Now Ash a good job in that battle. You don't see a rookie like you beating a gym leader usually. "

Ash was a bit sad in the fact that Mr. Joban called him a rookie. "Not to worry Ash, once you get your first badge you shouldn't be that much of a rookie anymore." continued Mr. Joban sensing Ash's quietness.

"Come on let us go to the Pokemon Center and heal your Bagon and take a look at your Ghastly," said Mr. Joban.

"Sure, Mr. Joban. I almost totally forgot about healing Bagon," replied Ash with excitement. "Amateur" muttered Mr. Joban.

The pair then made their way toward the Viridian City Pokemon Center. They entered the lobby to see plenty of people and trainers in it. Ash walked up to the front desk and asked Nurse Joy if she could heal his pokemon. 'What is your name?" asked Nurse Joy.

"Ash Ketchum," replied Ash.

"Of, course I'll be right back," replied Nurse Joy.
Ash and Mr. Joban then sat down on the waiting bench. "So Mr. Joban you know when you were talking about your Team and all, when will I be stealing Pokemon?" asked Ash.

"Be Quiet!" said Mr. Joban sharply. "People can hear. I'll tell when the time is right for your first mission."

Suddenly, the doors of the Pokemon Center burst open. A man in a lab coat with a bag came running into the Center yelling out 'ASH KETCHUM!".

Ash walked up to the man in a lab coat and said, "Hello, I am Ash Ketchum. What do you want?"

"I am Professor Oak's assistant, Ben, I'm here to give you your first starter Pokemon."

"I already have my starter Pokemon," replied Ash.

"Oh really? Have this instead," said Ben. Ben gave Ash 5 Pokeballs and a Pokedex.
"Now, I'll be going!" said Ben running out of the Center.

"Bye!" yelled Ash.

The speaker suddenly spoke out, "Will Ash Ketchum get his Pokemon from the front desk?" Ash ran up to get his Pokemon.

At the same time, the speaker also shouted out, "Will Gary Oak get his Pokemon from the front desk?"

"Gary?" exclaimed Ash.

"My my if it isn't Ashy-Boy," said Gary coming to the front desk as well.

"Gary! I challenge you to a battle!" cried Ash.

"I'll battle you after I get my first gym badge since I'm wasting enough time here," replied Gary smirking as he got his Pokemon from Nurse Joy.

"Here, you go Ash," said Nurse Joy giving Ash's Pokemon back to him.

"Thanks, Nurse Joy," replied Ash.

Mr. Joban and Ash then went outside. "You know, that Gary kid was right. You are wasting time staying in Viridian City," said Mr. Joban to Ash.

"Alright! Let's go to Pewter City!" shouted Ash with excitement.

"You have to cross Viridian Forest you know," said Mr. Joban.

"Then, I'll cross Viridian Forest!" said Ash racing toward the entry of the forest.

Shaking his head, Mr. Joban walked to catch up with Ash.

A vibration from his watch told him someone texted him something.

Looking at the text he saw, "Are you done with your project yet, sir?"

Mr. Joban quickly replied in a text, "No, possibly in a week I will."

The person that saw the text then replied, "I'll see you soon, sir."

"You don't have to call me sir, we are a little too close for you to be referring me as sir" replied Mr. Joban in text.

The last thing Mr. Joban saw before turning off his watch was, "Of course Giovanni."
