Amelia's POV

"What do you mean we're not in the same cabin?" I heard my sister shriek, her voice raising an octave every two words.

"We had to make some accommodations to the requests, we're sorry but yours could not be fulfilled. Amelia, you'll be in the Cassiopeia cabin,"  Rayane, the head councilor, looked through his papers before continuing, "And, Ava, right? You'll be in Gemini Cabin," he explained calmly.

"But we're sisters, we have to be together!" Ava trilled.

"No, we really don't,"I butted in.

"What?" Ava said, turning to me with a hurt expression on her face, before hardening with a steely gaze.

"Yeah, Ava, all you've been is annoying this whole trip, so go over to your dumb Gemini cabin, and I'll go to mine, okay? Gosh you're acting like you can't make any friends," I heard a chorus of "oohs" behind me. I turned around, blushing, there was a cluster of three girls behind me, who seemed to be smirking at another group of four girls on their right. A short, frizzy haired brunette from the group of four rolled her eyes and beckoned for Ava to join them.

"Well, at least it looks like the "stupid Gemini Cabin," the brunette said, quoting my words, "got the way better sister,"

A completely normal heighted girl with long blonde hair pulled into a ponytail stepped next to me and snorted at the girls remarks. "I'm not sure you'll be saying the same thing when your cabin mate there starts crying over breaking a nail, Chloe,"

Chloe, the brunette, sneered. "We'll see at Color War, Clara, we'll see." she retorted before storming off with the group of the other three girls in her wake. Ava gave me one last dirty look before running off to join them.

"Um, hi" I said with a tentative smile at the girl, Claire, was it?

"Hey!" She replied perkily. "I'm Clara, I've come to camp for, like, ever, so if you need anything ask me. That's Eva, she's been coming almost as long as I have," Clara continued, gesturing to a shorter girl with pretty blue/green eyes and longish light brown hair that fell a little past her shoulders. "That's Kara, she's new, like you, and she's super sweet." She finished, pointing to the final girl in the group, a pale brunette with hazel eyes.

"Clara, did we get the good cabin the year?" Eva, the short girl, asked. Clara's eyes gleamed.

"Well, uh, we didn't, but I may or may not have switched the cabin assignments so we get the cabin with the indoor toilets, and those dumb Geminis have to walk over the hill. She shrugged mischievously. "But who knows?"

"Clara!' Eva gasped

"Eva!" Clara mocked and her and Eva laughed. "Last to the cabin has to clean the bathrooms first," I look at my pile of luggage and grown, I really didn't want to clean camp toilets. Still, this was turning out to be more fun than I could have hoped for, so I picked up my bags, and started running after the rest of the girls, a grin on my face.

........................................................................................................................

I had made it to the cabin last and I playfully groan, knowing what it meant.

"Don't worry about it, one of the girls hasn't come yet and I'm putting her on bathroom duty," Clara reassures me with a devilish smirk on her face.

"Remind me not to get on your bad side," I respond with a grin. Clara opened her mouth to respond, but before she could we heard a shriek from the other side of the cabin. It was coming from the bathroom and sounded like Kara! "Kara? What's wrong?" I ask, instead of responding she bolts out of the bathroom and I see her holding up a piece of toilet paper as a shield. After noticing our questioning looks, she points at the bathroom and manages to get out"S-sp-spider." Eva and Clara try to contain their laughter while they go and check it out. They soon emerge with the "scary" spider Kara was afraid of contained between a piece of toilet paper and a camp brochure. It was just a daddy long leg!
