Chloe's POV (MEanwhile at the bOring CaBin)

When I stretched and got up in the morning, I almost hit my head on the low hanging bunk bed above me. I rolled my eyes and got out of bed. All I really wanted was to be a thousand miles away from this stupid camp, with its stupid activities and stupid beds.  I thought of my other option for the summer: a nice beach vacation in Hawaii, but nooo, my mother had to sign me up for this camp, since I'd had 'so much fun' previously. Ever since my parents had split, they had tried to show the other up, and my dad was definitely winning when he announced our trip to Hawaii. But my mom had to open her stupid mouth and get me here: where the closest thing to the sand along the beach was the sharp pebbles along the murky lake.

I kicked the bunk beside me and made a large noise, "time to get up, bitches!" I yell. I had started training the girls to get up early so we weren't pranked and so we were ready for color war, an event in camp where each cabin is assigned a color; cabins of the same age and gender compete and whoever gets the most points win. I may not come back to camp ever again, so I better beat Clara and Space at least once. I heard groaning coming from Ava and Kailie's side of the room.

"Every complaint we get up ten minutes earlier tomorrow, got it?" I yelled. They shut up after that. I'm pretty sure all the girls think I'm a bitch, but, honestly, I could care less. After this awful summer, I'll never see them again.

"Okay, Chloe, you really need to stop the power trip, it's getting super obnoxious," I heard Rachael say from the other side of the room. I walk up to her and roll my eyes.

"What was that? I only heard 'ten minutes earlier'" I retort.

"Look, even your four feet of madness can't make us get up!"

"Yeah, but I'm sure y'all will have a great rest when I'm yelling my ass off. Now fall in line Rachel, or I beat your way too tall ass," I say with an innocent shrug.

"I swea-" Rachel started.

"Just shut up, Rach," Ava said. "I want the sleep I do get uninterrupted at least," Kailie and Beth made noises that sounded like an agreement.

"Fine," Rachel steamed, red faced. "But this is going to be a long summer if we let her do what she wants."

"And a longer one if you don't," I say, ending the conversation.

Clara's POV

I almost choked on my burnt waffles from laughing so hard at Eva's story.

"-I swear, there was milk coming out of his nose.." She trailed off and inclined her head behind me.

"What? Oh," I say as I turn around to face probably the second-to-last person I want to see right now, just slightly losing to Chloe.

"Hey, C, can we talk?" Braedon asks, looking sheepish. I really didn't want to have this conversation, but I guess I owed it to him, being so cryptic about why I broke up with him.

"No, you can't!" Kara burst out, making us look at her with varying expressions of surprise on our faces. She turned bright red, "I mean, uh, she's eating, so it may not be the best time, but you could, if you wanted, your choice. You guys were dating and stuff, so yeah" she stuttered out and then looked down, embarrassed, at her plate, making patterns in her syrup. I was confused by her outburst, she didn't even know Braedon, but I guess I had told her enough of his annoying patterns for her to be considered an expert on him by this point.
