I Was Solitude
"Faking because it was aching."
It stung my heart.
I can't believe someone like us would do that to me. He looked innocent. Does it interpret how I feel about him? Or is something triggering it to happen?
The scene repeatedly went on 42094's mind. She did everything she could to stop it from appearing her mind, to be erased and not come back, so she can pass the day with no pain in her heart. She was terrified that a thing like that could exist in the world they're living in.
She thought this was her Utopia.
Grace Field, an elite plantation cattle children are produced in to provide quality 'meat' to demons, it is considered as an orphanage for the kids. Isabella, a current beholder of the institution now beholds three premium meat and a few high-quality meats that consider the institute and her as well rise to their reputation.
The children were guileless of their fate. Expecting that a family is waiting for them at the other side, to hold them with their warmth, to become one with another family.
Not-
The children are now up for breakfast. Woken up by a fellow sister that goes by the name, Emma, 42094 sat down along with her siblings as their breakfast was served.
She fiddled with her fingers as the scene kept flashing in her eyes. She scanned the whole room with tears brimming in her lids trying to not make her breakdown obvious. Her mind finally snapped out as her eyes fell on one person.
"42094? Are you okay?" asked Norman with concern in his tone.
You looked up seeing a familiar pair of ocean blue eyes in front of you. Your eyes slightly widened a bit and so you averted your gaze checking if the others noticed as well. Thankfully they were occupied and was actually starting to eat.
Was I too obvious? Did Norman notice the way I was?
"What do you mean? I'm good, I just missed our old siblings," you smiled trying to light up your mood and convince him.
But he is, in fact, Norman. He is the top scorer in the whole orphanage, surely he won't let your feelings set aside.
He smiled back and continued eating as you did as well. Your heart was racing while eating so it made it difficult for you to to do so. Everybody was happily eating and talking on the table. Trying to make it seem like you're okay, you conversed with your other siblings as well.
Don, Phil, Anna, Alicia, Gilda, Conny-
You stopped as you clutched your chest as you stared at your now empty plate.
Why?
Breakfast soon ended and then came the daily test. The day went by so fast and here you are now in your free time. You spend most of your free time outside playing ukulele on a tree.
You avoid interaction with others once in a while. That led to the tree climbing and hiding in the branches. Except, Emma will always be on the field along with the kids. Basically, Emma equals physically fit, physically fit equals goes out on the field, goes out on the field would also mean climbing trees, climbing trees would lead to-
"42094!"
You flinched as you gazed in front to see Alicia and Phil staring at you.
"What are you guys doing here? You shouldn't climb trees without anyone knowing you might fall and-"
