The Way You Did Once

"But instead I was breaking."
"42094? You okay?" asked Ray looking in your direction, he looked like he was worried just by looking at expression, it looked cold but it had a hint of concern at the same time.
I feel hurt.
You thought while sitting back down. The aching in your chest feels like it faded already but somehow at the same time, it feels like it's still there. You didn't know what to reply to the curious boy and just stared at him for how long. You slowly reached out for the ukulele lying beside you only to be snatched away from you.
"What's wrong? You were just smiling until you fell asleep and then you're starting to act like this," he exclaimed.
"I'm fine, I just had a dream that's all,"
You shot a frown trying to take back the ukulele from his grip but it only tightened more as he drew you closer to him. Your glare met his as he bore holes into you, not really having the intention to let the ukulele go, or maybe even let you go.
"Tell me what's wrong,"
"I just told you-"
"You didn't! You keep holding back your feelings! From all of these years, we've been friends 42094, you were always there to listen to me, you had your arms wide open but when I had mine open, you decide to keep it in and hide it for who knows how long!" he snapped.
He's shouting, he's actually shouting.
You sat there both in amusement and dismay. This was actually your first time hearing him shout, it took you by surprise to hear him like this but the thought that you're currently in a fight with him hurt you. His words struck like thunderbolts in your chest, a bolt after the other felt like you're about to be in a coma in any second now.
It's not that you're belittling the subject he's arguing over, which is you concealing your feelings, it's that he's making a dispute over something like you. You don't bring yourself into talks with him as you feel that it is no need to talk about things relating to you.

"Are they fighting?" Emma questioned with her eyebrows knitted together.
"Who's fighting?" Gilda asked gazing into the direction Emma was looking at the window. "Ray and 42094."
"I've only seen petty fights from our siblings but this, I think they're fighting about something serious," Don said in amusement.
"You're right, Don. I didn't even think that those two would fight, they're like, the same?"
"Even though they have some qualities that are the same there's always a way they can fight," Norman remarked not taking his eyes off the books he's currently stacking.
"Hm, by the way, it seems Ray is so heated up, he looks like he's about to explode in no time,"
"What could've 42094 done to make him rage like that?"
"Should I stop them? I think I should stop them-"
A loud thud was heard across the room, startling the three. They turned to the source to see Norman picking up the 'not-so' dropped book. He stiffly stood back up with a serious gaze displayed on his face.
