There was a knock at the door in the afternoon. Bianca and I were sitting on the couch in the living room watching a movie that I didn't catch the name of. When we both heard the knock at the door, her tensed and her eyes locked on the door. I pretended not to notice and got up to get the door.
I peek through the peep hole.
I let out a sigh, "Oh god," and swung open the door for Aaliyah. I leaned my head on the door frame and looked at her with a playful look, "Yes?"
Her hands dropped to her sides with disappointment, "did you really forget?"
My mind spaced as I looked at my little sister with confusion. Forget what? What did I forget?
Then it hit me; we planned a day to ourselves for when I got back.
I close my eyes and leaned my head against the door frame and smacked my forehead with my hand.
"I'm so sorry, Aaliyah," I said, "It completely slipped my mind."
"Its fine," she tried to assure me, "I'll come back another time."
She began to wall away from my door, but I grabbed her had in the nick of time before got out of my reach.
"Wait," I stopped her, "give me a moment." I pull her inside so I can get ready. Just as the door closed, Aaliyah came to an automatic stop.
"Who is this?" She was gazing past me as a smile creept across her face.
My eyes fixed on where her eyes were leading to; Bianca was standing on the other side of the room. Her eyes were shooting back and forth between me and Aaliyah, with a nervous look.
"Oh-ah..." I said awkwardly, "Aaliyah, this is, er, Bianca. Bianca this is my little sister Aaliyah."
Bianca smiled, "Hi."
Aaliyah gave a little wave, "Hi." She kept smiling, if anything her smile was getting bigger. I knew what she was thinking, but I just met Bianca.
"I've heard a lot about you," Bianca said, reminding me of how much I talked about my family.
"I hope they're all good things," Aaliyah laughed then turned to me, "She is coming with us, right?" Aaliyah asked me.
I locked eyes with Bianca, "If she wants?"
She raised an eyebrow, "Where am I going?"

"So your from L.A.?" Aaliyah asked Bianca. "What was it like growing up there? Wait, did you always live there?"
"Aaliyah, don't drill her with questions," I said.
We were sitting at a table having lunch while Aaliyah asked Bianca constant questions.
I'm surprised that Bianca still has a smile.
"No, its fine," Bianca said, "I did grow up in L.A., but I grew up foster care."
Aaliyah finished chewing her sandwich and swallowed before asking, "what happened to your parents?" Then my sister was taken back as she realized what she had just asked, "er-I mean, if you don't want to talk about it-"
Bianca let out a soft laugh, "no, its alright. I never knew who my dad was, and my mom didn't want me." She paused before adding, " I didn't have any other family so I was stuck with being a foster child."
"That's sad."
"No, it wasn't too bad I guess," Bianca finished off her sandwich and I realized that I was staring. I look away just as she looked up at me. "Where are we going next?" she asked.
I looked at Aaliyah, "Where are we going?"

Bianca and I were waiting in the main open area while Aaliyah got the movie tickets. I glance at her while she looked up at the movie posters up above. She had light freckles on her cheeks, and her thick eyelashes laid on top of her big brown eyes. She doesn't wear make up, her beauty is natural.
Her head turned to me, and she smiled as she realized I was staring, "what?"
I clear my throat and looked away, "nothing."
I look over at Aaliyah, she was only halfway though the long line.
"She's better than I expected," Bianca said.
"Yeah?" I turn back to her.
"Yeah, she's really funny and sweet," she smiled. "I enjoy her company."
"Me too, " I smiled.
When Aaliyah got the tickets I had to pull her to the side in private to tell her that Briana and I were not together.
"Wait, what? You aren't?" She said, confused.
"No."
She gave me a teasing smile, "then why are you guys so cute together?"
A paused, speechless and dumbfounded by my little sister.
Her smile got bigger, "wait, do... Like Bianca?"
My face heats up and I know that I'm blushing, "wha- I- uh- er..."
Her eyes narrow, "what?"
I take a deep breath, "isn't it obvious enough?"
"Yes, but I want to hear you say it."
"Yes, I like Bianca."
