**Alli's POV**
When we arrived at the Ball I was amazed at the way it looked. It was being held in a big ballroom that had tables all around with black and gold decorations with teal accents. I loved the whole design of it. No duh, you are in a room full of designers.
"Your table is right this way." A young man in a black long sleeve and teal bow tie said leading the way. Once we reached our table, Seth and Serena were pulled away into conversation by some other people who were dressed really nicely.
"And there they go." Shane sighed as he plunged into his seat.
"They're just doing their job." Sarah defended.
"Well, too much work can kill you." Shane said in a sarcastic voice.
"Really?" Stacy jumped into the conversation. How much more can you be a bad influence?
"He's kidding." I smiled, narrowing my eyes at Shane.
"Come on Stacy, let's get some food before its all gone." Sarah said standing up. " You guys want to join?" She turned to us, not knowing what to say I looked towards Shane to see him on his phone with a weird look on his face.
"Maybe later." I smiled towards Sarah gesturing they go on ahead. She smiled back and went on her way with Stacy next to her.
I looked to Shane as his phone rested between his hands with that same look on his face. "Are you ok?" I asked.
He was still looking at his phone by the time I finished the question. "What? Yeah. I'm fine." He quickly said slipping his phone into his pocket.
"Alli?" Serena said from behind me.
Startled, I got out of my seat to join her conversation with two other people she introduced to me as her colleagues.
"This is Alli, Shane's girlfriend." She said. Was she showing me off like I was a trophy?
"It's nice to meet you." One of the colleagues said.
"So how long have you been with Shane?" The other colleague spoke.
"Almost 2 months."
Before I could answer, Shane beat me to it. He placed his hand towards my lower back.
"Did I just hear Shane Carson has a girlfriend?" A guy who looked around our age asked butting into our conversation, making the colleagues walk away.
"Shane ignored his question and introduced us. "Alli, this is Jordan. Jordan this is Allison."
"Alli." I insisted sticking my hand out. Allison seemed too formal.
"Jordi." He shook my hand. "Shane, where'd you get a mighty fine girl like this?" He winked.
"Oh y'know, I was born awesome" Shane faked laugh.
"Well it was very nice to meet you." Jordi said kissing my hand.
"Ok." Shane chuckled pushing him away. "See you later bro." Shane added doing that boy handshake boys always do.
Shane turned to me with a smirk before his beeping phone went off. He took it out and checked the screen, before shoving it back into his pocket.
