The two walked a good distance from the doctor's lab to a couple of trees. Unlike the surrounding trees, these two had several scars and scorch marks. Paper was nailed to the center with poorly painted targets. Metal just blankly stared at them as Cut took the scissors off his head. He smiled at the red bot.

"You want to play a game?" He asked.

"A...game?" Metal replied in a confused manner. He never thought of games when he was activated. All Wily told him to do was to practice on his weapons and help with building the other robots. He never really learned to have fun.

"Have you ever played darts? You just try and get as many points on the ring as possible. Yellow is 2 points, black's 4, and the tiny red circle is 6 points." Metal stared at the scarred wood, the memory of a certain older, nature loving brother.

"And what about missing your target completely?" Metal asked seriously.

"Then you get no points."

"So, you lose the competition entirely?"

"No. You try again." Cut turned his head in confusion.

"But what if you lose then?" At this point, cut launched his scissors first. It missed the target by an inch and lodged deeply in the wood.

"Then you keep on trying, no matter how much you miss the target. That's the point of darts, you try and have fun. Have you never played a game?" Cut asked as it was Metal's turn to throw. The red robot summoned a saw blade, throwing at blazing speed. It hit the very edge of the yellow ring.

"Only if you count 'destroy the enemy' as one. And 'chase Megaman'." Metal shrugged. Cut did a little laugh. A genuine laugh. Inside Metal's circuits, a feeling stirred slightly in his core. Something light and made him feel...happy. As soon as it came, the feeling died down, but the thought still lingered in his mind.

"I see. Sounds like Wily never let you out of the castle huh?" Cut waited for the other's turn.

"Wily told us when we were activated that our purpose was simple. Destroy megaman and help conquer the world. He didn't believe in time to bond or enjoy ourselves. I was the one who followed in his footsteps the most. At the time, I did believe him and wanted to make him proud. I guess I didn't make it." Cut yawned for a moment, catching Metal off guard.

"So, you didn't make the 'cut'." He blurted the last word loudly, snickering to himself. Metal tilted his head in confusion.

Was that a pun he did?

"Hey, I get it. Things didn't go the way you planned, but some of us Light bots aren't so lucky. I mean, I'm a little orange bot with scissors on top of my head. I don't look that threatening, let alone useful right?" He asked Metal, who stared for a moment.

"You look like a little doll." He smirked from his mask.

"Hmph! And you look like a dentist, a sick dentist!" Cut remarked. Metal stepped back without a second thought, dramatizing his movements.

"What? Me, a dentist? No, I might be a cook for all I know!"

Cut giggled a little bit before Metal start to join. Shaking his head, he couldn't help but laugh along with the little bot. This was a nice feeling to him, talking normally and not forced to fight constantly.

"Yeah, break all the bowls while you're at it. At least you don't snap every so often and try to destroy everything."

"One of your brothers do that too? Which one?" Metal asked, getting a bullseye several times in a row with the blades.

"Bombman. Pretty much explains it, doesn't it? He's not here most of the time as he works in another city, though I think you saw him earlier. He was the one stuck on the couch being pulled by Ice."
