Bonding: Predatory Respect part 3

I stopped where I was, watching Plant's body dangle off Slash's jaw. My core was racing, and the oil inside me was boiling. I got into a battle position as he continued to drag the plant robot across the ground.

"Y-YOU TRAITOR!!!" I roared, charging headfirst into him. I launched several feet into a tree, Plantman rolling to the side.

"What are you doing?!" He snapped at me. However, he grew silent at the malice in my eyes. My fangs were bare and snarling.

"I trusted you, and yet you attack my friend and now he's unconscious. I thought you could trust us!" He rolled his in annoyance as he took a step closer.

"You honestly thought that? How quick to conclusions can you even get?" He scoffed.

However, I ran in between him and Plantman, who was shaking from the damages. "You stay away from him!"

"Move."

"I said no!"

"You are making it difficult to explain!" He retaliated. He tried to push me to the side, only for me to jump and bite him on the shoulder. I don't remember ever being able to do that. He recoiled in pain as I whipped him across the head. I then grabbed him by the shoulder and collided him into the observatory's foundation. He lied motionless, coughing up oil.

"Snake stop, let me explain..." He wheezed.

"I don't want to hear it. Plant reactivated you and me, and still you treat him and everyone around you like dirt. I never want you near us again."

Suddenly, Plant's eyes flickered open and gave a weak plea. "You two...stop." It managed to catch both of our attention, and Slash ran right past me.

"I thought I could finally trust you too. I guess we're both disappointed in each other." He then ran in the opposite direction. As his shadow disappeared, I climbed in our dorm with Plant curled up.

It was stressful making sure his circuits or I.C Chip wasn't destroyed. One layer of his armor was slightly damaged, but his vines were almost smashed. Two of his petals were also torn. I refrained myself from chasing after Slash myself, only applying cold water to Plant's overheating body for a few hours. Finally, Plant's eyes flickered to life and he jolted up.

"Slash!" He yelled. I had to pin him down.

"Hey, it's okay. You're okay. I took care of Slash, so he's not going to bother us again. The jerk..." However, Plant looked horrified as he gripped the blankets hugging him.

"You attacked him?"

"I had to! He was holding you in his jaw!" Plant shook his head frantically.

"Snake, Slash wasn't attacking me at all! He was protecting me!"

That stopped me in my rant. "W-What do you mean?"

"He saved me from the loggers. And he's going after them!"

"I was trying to talk with the illegal loggers trespassing on the forest. They are almost heading toward our place. They wouldn't listen to common sense, and started threatening me and tried to destroy me. I couldn't hurt them, and I almost... But then Slash somehow found me, and attacked the humans himself. He brought me back here to help me Snake! But now..."

"Oh man, I screwed up big time. I let my instincts get the best of me." I sighed, watching Plant slowly repair himself.

"Eh, something tells me Slash has actually been doing this for a while. When he attacked the human, the human looked surprised, like they met before."
