I was pacing back and forth with Doctor Light repairing bits and pieces of Snakeman in the lab. When Roll said Hornet came back with a damaged robot, I was wondering who would be so hurt. I didn't expect it to be Snakeman, who could be skilled on his own grounds. I would've expected it to be more Gyro or even Bubble.
"Rock, why don't you go help your sister and Hornet outside? I can take care of Snake here." Dr. Light spoke calmly.
"A-Are you sure Dad? I could help with th-the wiring, just anything I can do to help him. Anything at all? Please?" I whispered. It actually physically hurt to see the wires stick out of him like that. And Hornet said he was almost chopped in half. What the heck happened with him?!
With a sympathetic smile, Doctor Light rubbed my back. "If I'll need anything my son, I'll let you know. Will that be good for you?"
"Y-Yeah, I suppose so."
"Alright, now I think Roll might collapse with how much food she's holding. I bet she could use an extra set of hands." He then reentered the lab, leaning over Snake's unconscious body. His little search snake crawled onto my shoulder, and I didn't mind. It was his pet like Rush was to me. Speaking of which, he was affectionately rubbing my hand.
"Alright boy, I'm coming. Hey Roll! Need any help?"
As Roll was sorting through the food, I was helping Hornetman with the last of cleaning. "Are you alright Hornetman?"
"Oh yes Rock, I'm alright." He seemed to look over to the lab just like I was.
"You seem angry about something?" I looked at the lab again. "It's not about Snakeman, is it?"
"No it isn't, it's..." He sighed before putting the box down, "Rock, while I was down there getting him, I came across your little 'friendly rival' Bass. He put up an ambush, and was responsible for our fellow Light bot in there."
I felt my core stop for a few moments before finally speaking up. "Bass? He's active again? But why, why would he be going after others-?" Then it clicked in my head, and then I stopped. "Wily."
"Seems like it Rock."
"When Doctor Light said that Wily was going to be hunting for the rest of the wily bots, I thought it was an exaggeration. But now..."
"Snake did take a bit of damage, but Bass was driven out by Slashman. They seem to be on bad terms with each other." Hornet pointed out. Just mentioning the name made me stop and shiver. I could remember how merciless Slash was when I fought him. The deep cuts in my chest and legs, the fact I almost passed out when he made me run out of oil. I wonder if he gave Bass bad battle damage too. I mean, the jerk deserved it but still!
"We should take this as a sign Rock. If there is a wily bot like Slash fighting to stay alive, then other rogue wily bots are probably doing the same thing." Hornet said softly, watering the plants.
"I guess you're right. And if they don't somehow and give in to Bass?"
"Then they'll have to be taught a lesson." Hornet finished.
"Oh no! I'm done with battling for a long time now!" I huffed, only to hear chuckling from above both of us.
"No bro, we'll be the ones teaching the lessons." Tornadoman smiled as he hovered. I smiled in excitement upon seeing him, I haven't seen him in months.
"Tor! What are you doing here?! I mean, I'm happy but-"
Tornado made a small wind gust mess with my hair. "Hey!"
"I'm just here dropping off some people. Think you might know them?" Suddenly, chattering and arguing came from just above him. Upon closely looking, it was Starman desperately clinging to a struggling Gyroman's legs.
