*Twelve-Thirty in the Afternoon*
*Kian's POV*
The constant clatter of wheels rolling up and down the hall annoyed me as I sat in the chair frazzled. The atmosphere around me was so wrong, they wouldn't tell me what was happening. My heart pounded against my chest as I got the call and never stopped since. I got up, heading towards the front desk, "You have to tell me what the hell is going on with her!" I demanded my voice shaky. The lady at the desk shook her head, "Sir please calm down." she replied calmly as if she handled things like this all the time. "I'm not calming down until you tell me what happened to my girlfriend and son!" my voice stammered as I pounded my fist on the counter. Her eyes got wide, "I didn't realize, right this way sir." I followed her into a room that looked exactly the same as the others. "Aliyah was hit head on by a drunk driver, her parents and immediate family have been called and are on their way." she began, I felt my jaw drop, "She is in the ICU undergoing surgery at this very moment, I'll tell you immediately once I get more information." my world began to spin. "My son, he was in the car, where is he?" I spatted getting in her face. "He was instantly killed, I'm so so sorry." she placed her hand on my shoulder. My legs collapsed, I slid down the wall, burying my sobbing face into my knees, "No, no, no!" I mumbled trying to convince myself this was all a dream.
*Two PM*
Aliyah's parents had arrived just as I was told. I sat staring blankly at the floor. I couldn't cry anymore, as no tears would surface. The nurse has been giving me frequent updates on Aliyah. My body was chilled but I didn't care anymore. "Kian...Kian!" I finally heard a soft voice saying. I looked up and into the eyes of Aliyah's mother, "Don't be so hard on yourself, even if you were with you couldn't change what happened, hun." she whispered sitting down beside me, placing her hand on my back. I shook my head, covering my face with my hands. Soon we were allowed to go see Aliyah, in her room after she got out of surgery. Her parents, of course, were the first to go in. I stood at the doorway waiting for my turn. After a couple minutes her father emerged, "This is all your fuckin' fault, if she never met you this would have never had happened!" he screamed furiously storming to the elevator. It was true it WAS all his fault. "Go on." her mother said quietly, a few tears falling from her eyes.
In the suite, a pale face and inanimate hands were the only things visible. I plopped down in the chair, gently taking her cold hand in mine. My warm lips kissed her hand as I felt tears blind my vision. "Look at what your doing to me, princess." I whispered in a harsh voice, that I hadn't used in a while. She laid there limp, I just wanted her back more than ever before. The nurse told me that even if she lived, there was a high-risk of memory loss. I don't know what would be better for her. My eyes grew heavy, I leaned back in the chair listening to the steady beep of the machine that helped her to breath.
"Boy, don't you think you've screwed enough up!" Mr. Hastmen hissed pulling me back to consciousness. "Shut the fuck up!" I got to my feet. "You screwed up her life, trust me, if she lives she's coming home with us." he replied furiously, shoving my closer to the door. Before things could get heated, the monitor sparked up a little. She could hear them. I walked into the hallway, knowing he would follow, "You think I screwed her life up, your the one who disowned her, never met YOUR own grandson, and never came to visit!" my voice grew furious, "Now you tell me who the lowlife is, you piece of shit." I finished and disappeared down the hallway.
