ROSE'S perspective
I was pleasantly surprised when I found myself liking the conversation Emily and I were having.
After I finally managed to grow the balls and text her back, we ended up talking for hours. Though her responses were slow and short, we shared small details about ourself that helped us familiarize each other.
So far she's the best one out of the bunch, but my expectations were still pretty low.
"How's it goin'?"Kai yelled from the kitchen.
I looked at him, wanting desperately to ignore his question. "Good, but she's terrible at replying." I rubbed my temple. "I should've never let you talk this into me. A sixteen year old girl texted me Kai!"
He chuckled while shaking his head, "Well you can't expect them all to be perfect." He finished, turning to the fridge to grab a water.
I sighed, reaching for my phone before deciding to send her a good morning text.
Or is that too clingy?
Fuck it.
Rose.
Morning._
EMILY'S perspective
I was exhausted.
Work was definitely getting the best of me and I was growing tired, but I felt selfish for complaining. After all, owning my own fashion company and becoming a designer was all I ever wanted.
But honestly, I'm not satisfied.
Theres's pieces of me missing and searching for it has been one of the hardest tasks I've ever attempted to accomplish.
I have a job. A damn good one, at that.
A house. Car. Money.
To the average 29 year old that would seem perfect. But I was no where near content.
I yawned, kicking off my heels and removing my bun before I leaned back onto my doorframe. Today was a handful and tonight would be another tiresome event full of work.
I stretched before walking towards my window that overlooked the city. Although I loved Chicago I needed to move on to bigger and better things.
New York.
I've had plans to move my company there for awhile and now was better than any to expand. I smiled at the skyline above me, completely in awe of all the lights before I sat down in my chair to begin working.
As I moved work around my desk I spotted my phone from the corner of my eye. It was hardly ever touched and served no actual purpose to my life. And besides my parents(who rarely ever called) and Grey it wasn't used for much communication either.
But I was bored and needed a break, and really anything would help take my mind off of its many worries. Opening it up to the home screen, I scanned the very few apps that could possibly occupy my time before I started to work. I came across an old dating app, one I used months ago for occasional hook-ups.
I've never been in any serious relationships and I figured dating sites would help. But I wasn't desperate. Everything but that and I certainly wasn't opposed to anything that would give me a push.
I began to swipe on different bios. Coming across both men and women that I might've found attractive. In reality these were probably a bunch of morons who were only interested in short-term flings, I couldn't even bring myself to realize how pathetic I was being for even downloading an anonymous site.
I stopped. Coming across a name I've always loved, by default it caught my eye.
Rose J.

Chicago, Illinois
Aspiring journalist. Chicago native. Taco lover.I smiled at end. From the short bio I could tell we had a lot in common, swiping right and sending a short text, I put my phone down to finish the rest of my work.
