EMILY'S perspective
"I missed you."
I pressed my lips into her forehead. That familiar scent of coconut and shea butter filled my nose and I immediately felt safe again.
"Me too." She smiled, motioning for me to sit.
Today was Wednesday. 4:45 to be exact. My instincts told me to make up an excuse for missing dinner with Rose just to meet whoever sent those pictures. I won't lie, I debated on just standing Rose up all together but I knew she deserved more than that. She was more important than that. I was willing to risk anything just for one meal with her. Just for her to be happy, I'd give up everything.
"Are you ok?" She questioned. Her tiny hands rubbing against mine.
Should I tell her?
I certainly didn't want to worry her. That would do no good. Plus I have no actual evidence that this could be Erin. Though my gut tells me otherwise.
"I'm fine, just hungry is all."
I plastered a smile on my face. I doubt it looked believable but she left it alone as she continued to read her menu. Time passed on, eventually our waiter took our orders and the clock inched closer and closer to five.
"Emily you've barely touched your food I thought you were hungry."
Damnit. "I am!" I quickly shoved in a forkful of pasta and chewed aggressive.
Her eyebrow flickered up. She wasn't buying it. "I'm not going to force you to tell me what's going on just know I'm here to listen."
I just nodded, going back to picking at my food.
The rest of dinner was uneventful. Rose got my mind off of the pictures with a light conversation and we shared a small dessert.
That seemed to have lightened the mood.
We left the restaurant hand in hand as I walked her to her car. She was rambling on about how she had so many emails and things to finish back at her office. "I wish I didn't have to leave." She pouted with a small tug on my collar.
I smirked. "Then don't." I snuck in a kiss on her poked out lips, "stay with me tonight."
A small whimper escaped when I pulled back. "I can't, I have work in the morning."
Now she was holding onto me, our faces close to each other as my back pressed against her car. "Leave in the morning." I dragged. I liked being with her, I liked her in my apartment and in my bed. Her being there felt natural and she was the one thing that continuously made me feel good.
There was no desire to drink or do drugs and my attention was almost always on her. She was a subject in my life I didn't mind having, especially this constantly.
"You want me to stay?" Her voice sounded innocent while she wrapped her arms around my neck, urging her breast into me.
I smirked, what a tease. "Yeah it'll be like a sleepover." I deadpanned, grabbing her hips and pulling her pelvis closer to mine.
"And what will we do at this sleepover?" Her voice was low, almost in a whisper as her lips brushed against mine and her breath hitched in her throat.
"Well we could bake cookies."
"Mhm." She hummed.
"Watch movies."
"Hmm."
"And maybe even play a game..." I smiled.
