^ if you ever wondered what everyone would look like. also, thanks for the love on the last chapter.

ROSE'S perspective

I didn't think I drank that much. Sure, I was a little drunk but not nearly enough to be hungover.

Saturday morning. One out of the two days of the week when I'm not drowning in work. Which for most people was a happy thing. I didn't like it so much.

Having time for myself and getting things done was fine, but when I was bored out of my mind my thoughts wondered. And they always wondered to Emelia.

Rubbing my temples, I removed the covers. I couldn't think about her now, not with this headache. I found some Tylenol and headed to the kitchen for some water. When I arrived bags and boxes were tossed messily around the kitchen.

"You have no food."

I jumped, "Kai!"

He stood behind the refrigerator door, stuffing his mouth with cereal. I wasn't expecting him to be here. Usually he let me know when he was coming down to visit, last time I heard he was teaching an art class at a summer camp. I'm not complaining, he's a good distraction.

"Hi to you too." He budged, walking around the counter. I shook my head, too exhausted to go back and forth with him.

"How's school?" I swallowed.

Shrugging, "Regular I guess. Not much happens."

"Have you created any new pieces?" I moved to get some bread, coming to find out I had none left.

"Yeah, but they're no good, just things to submit for a grade."

"How long are you staying? Maybe you can create something while you're here." I finished the last of my water and left the glass in the sink. I sat next to him at the counter, doing my best to comfort him. Times like this I wish my parents were here. I wasn't like them in ways like this. I was still soft and caring but Emelias absence hardened me. It wasn't easy to let everyone in, I was snappy in the beginning.

I can't blame it all on her, but when someone who you love leaves you for years, it becomes easy to make them the target.

Even now I love and hate Emelia. She's managed to become everything and nothing in my life.

"Just a few days."

I frowned, "why not longer?"

"I'm going camping with some friends. I want to be back before then."

It was silent for awhile. I watched to clock and saw that it was only nine. I heard his stomach grumble.

Chuckling, "I'm going grocery shopping." I stood up, "coming with?"

Kai scoffed, "hell no. Just get good stuff." He stood beside me and kissed my forehead before walking off to the guest bedroom.

By eleven I was well rested and my headache was gone. I was starving now and knew I needed to go out before it got too late.

I huddled inside my car, careful not to burn myself on the seatbelt and left for the store. Kai gave me a long list of snacks I needed to pick up along with other household items.

Once I arrived, I began my shopping. Grabbing a cart and starting in the produce section after sliding in my earbuds. The music helped things go by faster, and with this list I could be here all day.

Time went by, isle after isle my cart filled up with various foods. I was almost done but towards the back there was a wine and spirits section. After last night and the outcome of this morning, I didn't even need to be thinking about liquor. But it couldn't hurt.
