ROSE'S perspective
The sun bled through the curtains, lighting the whole room with its essence. The house was still quiet, beside me Emelia was sleeping peacefully with quiet snores. I had forgotten what sharing a bed felt like. Multiple times in the night I yanked the comforter to my side or accidentally kicked my legs around. It was no surprise when I found the sheet laying carelessly on the floor and Emelia hugged up next to me with half of the blanket draping off of the bed.
I admired her yet again. Losing myself in every line and curve her body had to offer. On her right temple there was a light scar, one that hadn't been there before.
Sitting up, I laid my back against the headboard. She snuggled closer to me as I strived to get out of her limp grip. It only got tighter around my thighs when I subtly tried pushing her off. "Noo." She whined in that sleepy morning voice.
I froze and waited for her next reaction, hoping I didn't wake her. My hand instinctively went to her hair, running my fingers through her soft black tresses and onto her smooth back. I was in awe of this moment, hell I had dreamt of it many times. When I'd wake up next to Emelia again and be able to capture all of her beauty without any interruptions or hesitation.
"Mmm that feels good." She muttered, yanking me from my thoughts as she stirred around.
I smiled, massaging her scalp and continuing to rub her back and shoulders. Minutes had passed. I was sure she was in a deeper sleep by now. I stopped from soothing her and made an effort to finally get out of bed.
"Don't go." Emelia whispered.
So I stayed, nodding my head though her eyes were closed as I moved back into my embrace. "That's better," She exhaled, "still mad at me?"
Chuckling, "Yes. But as much as I hate to admit it, you're incredibly cute when you sleep."
She smiled, leaning up to peck my cheek in an unexpected manner. "I'll take it." She winked.
We laid in bed as silence began to swallow us. Her spending the night wasn't planned, therefore I had no idea what to do now. "Breakfast?" I asked.
Tucking a piece of hair behind her ear, she scrambled to find her phone, noticing the sheets on the floor. "Still a wild sleeper?" She smirked, causing my cheeks to redden.
Once she retrieved her phone she came back to the center of the bed, her body fairly close to mine. "Damnit! I-I have to go." She hurriedly jumped out of the bed, moving to find her clothes from yesterday. I sat there flustered, maybe the slightest bit annoyed.
She was leaving again.
I think she took notice of my disappointment and sudden sadness, "Oh no Rose it's not like that." She crouched by my side, holding my fragile wrist. "I'm not leaving you ever again." Sighing, "not like that anyway. I have a meeting this morning, I'm trying to get my office building back or maybe find another one." She smiled, rubbing circles on my arms to try and get me to relax.
I was flooded with relief, I still wasn't ready for her to go but I understood. She was making an effort to get her life together, I had to commend her for that. I just wish it wasn't now.
"Maybe we can meet up later? I-if that's fine with you."
Her blatant nervousness was funny. She had always been so confident and head strong, it seemed as if now she had humbled herself.
"Yeah." Was all I said.
She finished putting on her jacket as we headed down the hall that led to the kitchen. Kai hovered over a bowl of cereal, milk dripping from his lip. "Morning." I spoke, watching him trail his eyes from me to Emelia.
