"I can't go in there. I can't see my dad like that" I told my Aunt Melonee. "He ain' deserve dis at all" I wiped my tears.

"Okay baby. Well, what color do you think his suit should be?" She asked me. "His favorite color was grey but he'd look nice in a blue suit" I told her.

"We can make that happen. Everything's gonna be alright. We're here for you both" Aunt Melonee said, as she walked to the back with Uncle Steven.

"Dee, what we gon' do? Pops is gone. It still ain't hit me yet" I said. "He would want us both to be strong, Ra. I have to take the role of the man of the house now. It's just us now. We gotta be strong for dad" Dee said, as he hugged me.

"Who is that?" He asked, as I turned around to the door. "Ion know" I said. A woman appeared in the doorway of the funeral home. She looked like she had been through it. Dark circles around the eyes and a white sundress with her hair matted.

My other uncle, Uncle Terrence approached us with the lady arm in arm. "Guys, this is your mother" he said. My eyes got wide. I looked at her up and down. She walked up to both of us and hugged us.
