As we walked away from the beach and towards the city, the breeze picked up and my light sweater only made me colder. I shivered and John started to reach for his coat when I tripped over a stair I had missed.
I heard a "THWAP" as I fell to the ground. I felt my leg which had begun bleeding like crazy as John wiped blood from my head.
"Are you okay?" He asked, trying to cover up his snickering and sound concerned.
"Yeah." I said as I got up and tried to walk.
As soon as I put pressure on my leg it gave in and I would have fallen again, if John hadn't caught me.
He moved my arm around his neck, which was really awkward since I was like 3 inches smaller than him, as he put his arm around my waist to hold me up. We walked to a bench and I sat down.
"Just give me a second, I can still walk." I said as I tried to walk again.
After about 5 minutes I could walk, but with a huge limp. As I finished my last trial lap, three shadows approached us and I soon saw they were three attractive men in suits. They walked to John and started to greet each other when John pointed to me they immediately looked over. One ran to me and asked me about my bloody knee and head.
" I kinda... You know.... Fell." I was waiting for a burst of laughter from him but his already concerned face grew even more concerned.
"Are you alright?" He asked.
"Yeah," I said shyly. Why am I acting so shy? I mean he is kinda cute but that's never stopped me from being... Well my obnoxious self.
"George leave her alone, she's fine" John shouted as George turned towards John and helped me get off the chair.
We walked over to the others and John introduced me. Paul and Richard, who told me to call him Ringo, were both really sweet. I told the boys I had to go home and George offered to walk me home. I figured he felt bad for me and it was just out of pity, but agreed anyway. We set off and at first it was really awkward and quiet.
"Are sure you're okay? You're limping really bad." He asked.
"I mean it hurts and all, but I'm fine." And, of course, right after I said that my knee gave in and I fell on my face once again.
I started tearing up, but tried to hide it in order to not seem like a baby. George ran over to me and helped me up. He seemed worried and offered to carry me.
I figured he was kidding and said sure, but before I knew it George was carrying me bride-style down the streets of New York. I told him where I lived and he took me to my house. As I walked inside, I offered him some tea and sandwiches.
We walked into my house and he sat on my couch as I prepared the snacks then joined him.
"So how did you come across John?"
"Well I was walking on the beach when he ran into me and kind of ruined my good camera." I told him, trying not to sound upset. I scratched my head and looked away to avoid any stares.
"Yeah, sounds like h-" George's eyes grew wide and I looked around trying to figure out what. Then something wet fell in my hands. "Jeanette your bleeding."
"Crap, I'll go clean this up."
"I can help you, it would be better than just sitting here." He asked sincerely.
I nodded and headed into the bathroom to get my first aid kit. I wet a wash cloth and George dabbed it on my scratch, as I started to cringe.
"Does that hurt?"
"A bit, but it's fine if it cleans it."
We cleaned up my scratches and wrapped them in bandages.
As George started to leave I gave him my number in case the boys ever needed anything. With that he headed out the door and I got ready for bed.
That night as I laid in bed one thing refused to leave my mind, George.
