The moment they started arguing, she knew things would end badly. Amber had rushed into the kitchen without a word and minutes later Damien had come through the door.

"Good," she yelled.

"Great," he yelled back, "Now I must go, but you have my approval for the pastries."

"Thanks," Amber stormed to the kitchen once again, leaving her with Damien.

He turned to her with a grin on his face and said, "pleased to meet you, Avery, goodbye."

He seemed nice to her, totally different compared to his older brother. After the whole fiasco at the Palace, Amber told her that the guy she had basically scolded like a kid was no other than Prince Philip, the future King.

Way to make a good impression, but that's what he gets for being disrespectful, she thought.

"Goodbye," she waved at him.

She went to check up on Amber and make sure she wouldn't be making a disaster in the kitchen, but instead, she found her kneading the bread dough very harshly.

"He sure gets under your skin," she said.

"Absolutely not, I'm totally fine," Amber said, "but you heard what he said, right? I mean, he provoked me, I couldn't just sit back and not say anything."

"Oh! You're right. There's absolutely nothing going on between you two," Avery said under her breath.

"What did you say?" Amber stopped.

"Nothing, I think I heard a customer come in," she jogged to the front before Amber could trap her.

The rest of the day went smooth, with no problems or unexpected guests. When her shift ended, she made a quick visit to the orphanage to deliver the leftovers from the bakery.

Back in the market town, she stepped inside the book shop, which was as charming on the inside as it was on the outside; the walls swarmed with books, and their smell mixed with the caffeine.

Avery was a hopeless romantic; she wanted a long-lasting love like her grandparents, so naturally, she would lose the sense of time while reading a story.

After roaming through every aisle, looking for a new story to add to her collection, she found one and paid for it but as she turned to leave she bumped into someone, sending all their books over the floor.

"I'm sorry I didn't–"

"It's okay, he cut her, "but next time make sure to see where you're headed."

And that's when she saw him; Prince Philip stood right in front of her with a frown on his face which made her wonder if he ever smiled.

"You should see where you're headed as well," she agreed, handing his books back to him, "but don't worry, if I'm such a bother to His Highness, I'll leave you alone."

Avery wasn't going to let him ruin her perfect evening.

"And it wasn't nice to see you too," she added before getting out the door.
