She still couldn't believe he had gone behind his father's back and donated a large sum to the orphanage. He had changed a lot in the short amount of time they've known each other, and she couldn't keep denying all the feelings bubbling up inside her every time they were close.

"Where are we going, Philip?" she asked.

"It's a surprise but we're almost there."

They came into a beautiful clearing where tall trees surrounded a stream, and birds chirped on the branches above them. The place looked brought out of a storybook.

"This is... breathtaking."

"My mom brought me here once; she loved being a queen, but she always said that family time was more important than state dinners or galas."

The rustle of the leaves created a gentle breeze while the stream's current flowed in a tranquil manner. He grabbed her hand and helped her sit in the tree trunk that sat at the edge of the stream.

"Do you enjoy that lifestyle?" she asked.

"I'm committed to my duty, but I don't like to attend the social events where I only have to entertain people close to the crown... sometimes it feels like I don't have a moment to myself."

"And surrounded by nature, you can be yourself."

"Exactly! Here, I'm not only a prince who will inherit the throne, I'm just Philip, though lately, I've realized that I also feel like that when I'm with you."

Her heart picked up at his statement; she turned sideways and looked deep into his green eyes, which held admiration, and something else she didn't quite decipher but quickly looked away.

"I feel like that as well," her stomach still tingling at his words, and her lips tugging into a smile.

They started throwing pebbles at the water, but as she leaned down to grab another one, she purposely threw water at him, and his shocked face soon was dripping wet.

"Oops..." she said innocently before running away.

He quickly caught her in his arms, and spun her around, intertwining their hands together, and pressing his forehead to hers as he tried to catch his breath, but as much as she loved being that close to him, she needed to put some space between them.

"I think we should..." she scooted back.

"Right!" he said awkwardly, "I have a surprise waiting for you at the palace, do you want to go?"

"Sure."
