"Well hello again Mrs. Kim." The same doctor who had helped you the other day entered the small hospital room holding a clipboard. Namjoon was nervously twiddling his thumbs beside you on the cushioned bench.
"How are you feeling?" He asked with a hint of sadness in his eyes, as if he knew something you didn't.
"Better, a lot better actually." You replied trying to get the answer as fast as possible as you place a hand on your tummy, "What happened back there?"
"As you know, you're pregnant ," He slowly explained. You nodded for him to continue.
"Well," he drew a shaky breath, "It is most dangerous for a fetus during it's fourth and six weeks, but since it's only your second week and you're already displaying concerning symptoms, there might be an even higher chance of it happening."
Your breath was caught in your throat for a moment, "W-What happening exactly?"
"There are also many other factors to consider as well," the doctor spoke, ignoring your question, "as far as I know, this is the first fetus with human and hybrid DNA on record. Whether or not the cells decide to cooperate is completely beyond me. But if-once you reach your eighth and ninth weeks, the possibility of it happening will decrease significantly to about 4 or 5%."
"WHAT HAPPENING?!"
The doctor sighed and in a tone full of dread, he answered,
"A miscarriage."
The air in the room suddenly became stagnant and silent. No one spoke. You tried to process the thought of losing your baby, granted you had been considering a miscarriage. But now that you learned that it has an abnormally high chance of dying, it made you determined to keep it safe and healthy.
Namjoon was the first to speak, "Why are the chances so high?" You looked over to see him frowning as if his mighty brain was trying to process the reasons why his best friends' baby was in danger and how the unforeseen enemy should be eliminated.
"Like I said," the doctor explained, "there are multiple possibilities why, it could be because human and hybrid DNA are not as compatible as everyone thought they would be. It could be because the carrier is experiencing strong traumatic emotions in such early stages of development." He said that part while trying his best to avoid your eyes. "Or the fetus could simply just be weaker than others. Either way, it is best that you proceed with EXTREME caution and take it easy until the eight week mark has been reached."
You only nodded, still not fully comprehending.
"Would you like us to call your husband?" The doctor asked carefully.
"No."
Time Skip
"Well how did it go?" Taehyung asked as you sauntered into your shared bedroom.
Honestly, you were a little shaken, who wouldn't be? You put on your best smile for Taehyung as you happily chirped about what had been discussed over lunch, nothing else.
"Well, the president wants to know when we'll be having kids."
You were sure that if Taehyung had been drinking something at that moment, he would've spat it out like they do on TV.
"K-Kids?" He stuttered.
You chuckled at his cute reaction, "Yeah, so when are we?" You couldn't help but tease him as you watched his face burn bright red.
"Well I-I um I really-um I um.." Taehyung looked down in embarrassment and your suggestive glances weren't helping him any.
"Don't hurt yourself Tae." You smirked. Hearing your mocking tone, however, Taehyung quickly regained his composure and returned the smirk, taking you off guard.
"Don't baby me, kitten," He said taking long, slow strides towards you, "Daddy doesn't like it."
Now it was your turn to have a red face.
"Besides, you have to save all that for the kids I'm about to pump inside of you."
You felt your body shudder as a slight wetness pooled in your panties. Taehyung grabbed your waist and pressed you firmly against him. You looked up to see his dark amber eyes intensely staring at you.
"My little princess.." He mumbled pressing a kiss at the top of your head before making his way down your neck. The sudden "attack" had you reeling as soft moans exited you mouth. He picked you up and carried you to the bed where he continued his work, undressing you and sucking on your neck and collarbone.
"I assume your feeling better now?"
Hearing that comment, snapped you away from the moment immediately.
NO
NO
You can't do this! Not now! It could hurt the baby!
You gently pushed Taehyung away and shook your head.
"We shouldn't be doing this right now. I am um still on my period." You explained as softly as you could.
"Still?" Taehyung whined, "What am I going about this?!" He pointed to the rather large tent in his pants in exasperation.
"You have hands silly." You pressed a kiss against his cheek and sprang up to go to the bathroom before he could say anything.
You knew you should've told him the truth, but what was the point of getting him all excited when you knew there it was a high chance the fetus could die any moment. No, you wanted to wait until the eight weeks were up, then tell him when it was safe to assume your baby was here to stay. You swore you'd do anything to protect the growing life inside you.
"Hang in there little one."
