TRIGGER WARNING AHEAD

Everything was fuzzy. Your vision, blurred. It would only take a few moments for the sock to melt away and allow the aching pain to reveal itself. But for the time being, you were just numb inside and out. The only feeling you had was coming from below, where you felt warm and...wet?

You shifted in your uncomfortable position lying on the cold, cement floor. Trembling, your hand made its way down desperately trying to find the source. In the dim light, you could faintly make out the color of the substance.

Red. Blood. You were bleeding down there. Your mind filled with instant panic.

"No," you muttered under your breath, "s-stop that."

You vaguely remembered someone coming into your cell and mercilessly beating you despite your pleas. The tears you hadn't noticed running down your cheeks began to pitter patter against the grey floor. You watched helplessly as the blood continued to ooze out of your abdominal area. Not only did you have no idea what to do, but you knew that there was no point. There was too much damage. There's no way it could've survived, not like this. You failed and you knew it. Protecting your unborn child had become your main task for weeks and now you failed.  It was a harsh reality that you couldn't yet grasp in the depths of your disconnected mind.

Watching from a safe distance, Hyungmin took in the sight of the now brutally beaten girl with slight regret. How long he was going to continue telling himself he did what he did for her own good was beyond him. The fate of humanity was resting on their shoulders and it was obvious what they had to do next. He really had every intention of being a good husband for Y/n, but it was extremely difficult when that same girl grew up thinking of him as an uncle. He wanted them to ease their way into everything, and not force anything on her, but when Y/n told him she had mated a hybrid, and one descended from one of the very brutes that had directly assisted in the take over nonetheless, it made his blood boil over. He wouldn't say it was from jealous, well maybe a little, it was like he was full on smitten with the young woman but she was his bride to be after all.

"N-no...come b-back.."

The whimpering coming from the far corner of the room drew his attention once more to the pitiful sight. He looked over just in time to see Y/n's pathetic attempts to put the blood that was gradually leaking from her body back inside her, cupping the red liquid and pushing it towards her vaginal area in desperation. The sight was not only gruesome but heart-wrenching as well. Hyungmin watched for as long for as his courage allowed and turned when it became too much.  Glancing down for a mere second, did a double take, when he realized just how blood stained his own hands were. It shouldn't come as a surprise, considering how he had just beat a woman and technically her child, but for some reason, it did. The longer he stared the more unsettled he became. He had to get out of here. He needed some air. The metallic stench emitting from the blood must be getting to his head.

Never in his life had Hyungmin wanted to leave a room so badly as now. But even as he was walking away, Y/n's cries for her child hadn't stopped replaying in his ears.

"D-Don't leave yet..."

"I c-couldn't p-protect you.."

"C-Come b-back sweetheart..."

"Please.."

The words wouldn't stop. Their memory haunted him.

Flashback: 6 years earlier (Another trigger warning)

Yoongi stared up at the cloud filled sky thinking about everything that had happened. Between the uprising and his broken heart, he didn't know how to process both at the same time. The fact that the hybrid uprising had been successful and he could now visit the very park he was in and lie on the grass like a normal human being was crazy enough. The thing was, he glanced to the spot beside him.

He wasn't supposed to be here by himself. That was the promise she made to him. But apparently Tiffany was full of empty promises. That's what he got, he decided, for falling in love with his owner, a human. She used to bring him here on a leash and whisper sweet nothings in his ear as they admired the passing clouds in the sky. Yoongi didn't notice tears were falling until he chocked back a sob.

"Why Tiffany!?" He  finally shouted at the sky. No one else was in the park to here his heartbroken rant, but he wouldn't have cared anymore anyway. The girl he had loved betrayed him at the last second in an attempt to preserve her own species and for that, she was slain. It wasn't until cries of pain that muffled his own overtook the stillness of the park that Yoongi stopped to listen. The shouts were coming from somewhere on the other end of the park. Curiosity got the best of him, leading to his decision to go check it out.

He didn't know what he was expecting to see. There had been several humans caught and killed in the weeks following the take over, so that was his best bet. But once he reached the small crowed of jeering hybrids, he saw the victims were human at all. There were two terrified bunny hybrids with looks of terror clutching onto each other for dear life, presumably brothers, as the whole crowd threw rocks and fists in their direction. Before he could ask the reason for all this abuse, he heard what the leader of the mob was shouting.

"Just go ahead and die you filthy fa**ots!"

Yoongi was surprised by the harsh, condemning words. Those bunnies weren't brothers, they were lovers. He had heard of gay people before but he had never actually seen any. It was pretty uncommon where he was from, or at least no one ever came out for fear of hatred from both humans and hybrids. The way people talk about them makes it sound like they are a completely different type of species all together. Seeing the bunny lovers holding on to each other so dearly made Yoongi pity them. They didn't look evil. Whether being gay was okay was something he had never really asked himself mostly because he wasn't really interested in the topic and really didn't care because it didn't effect him at all no matter what his opinion was.

It's not like he was the one liking guys.

"Hey! Leave them alone!" A familiar approaching voice caught Yoongi's attention.

A furious looking tiger hybrid broke through the crowd and shielded the gay couple from those who were trying to hurt them.

"They did nothing to you!" Taehyung yelled, a hint of disappointment in his tone. "We fought the humans so that we could finally be free and express our own individuality without being ashamed and now that we can do that you're telling them to stop?!"

Everyone shifted uncomfortably like they wanted to protest or say something but didn't want to risk angering the Dominant Predator.

"You all are becoming like the very people we strove to usurp! How could you even think of treating someone so badly, and for what? Falling in love?!"

"B-But-"

"No! The show's over everyone go away and get some fucking decency while you're at it!"

The whole crowd begrudgingly began to disperse sending final dirty looks to the terrified couple on the ground. Yoongi watched as his younger friend helped the pair up and asked them if they were okay. After they tearfully assured him they were fine and gave Taehyung eager thank yous the two males left hand and hand happy they were able to get some support.

Yoongi stared at the boy in front of him in awe. That must've taken him a lot of guts, but he supposed that came naturally, being a Dominant Predator and all. He had been staring for so long that he began to notice things that he hadn't yet before. How Taehyung's soft brown hair gently blew in the wind over his eyes and how the sunlight bounced off of his tan skin so perfectly. He looked incredibly handsome, like a prince of some sort. He began to feel something in his chest for the younger, handsome male that he had never felt before. It wasn't jealousy and it wasn't exactly your typical admiration. No, for the first time in his life, Yoongi must admit that he was attracted to his friend on many different levels. It scared him.

But was that necessarily a bad thing?
