"U-Uncle H-Hyungmin?" You stuttered feeling completely lost at the sight of the older man from her past.
"Y/n!" He looked just as shocked to which Jennie merely laughed.
"My my my, this reunion with your species is just as awkward as it is touching. I can't wait to hear about what happens on the honeymoon." She joked then turned to walk out the door, "I'll give you a few minutes to catch up." Then, she was gone.
"Y/n," the man croaked as tears brimmed up in his eyes, "You're alive!"
He leaned against the bars of the cell where you were trying to get as close as he could.
"Uncle Hyungmin," you said catching your breath, "I don't know what to say-how are you alive?"
"Miss Jennie found me and made me a servant." He replied droplets falling from his eyes, "For so long, I thought I was the only one until Jennie told me just the other day that she found another human. And a female, no less! I was ecstatic, but now that I know it's you, I feel even better. How did you survive alone all these years?"
You let out a shaky breath, "Luck I guess."
The two of you talked about how you survived the uprising and lived your life in the sewers alone and scared. And your uncle listened intently. He wasn't actually your uncle, just your father's best friend, but he was always be treated like family and you grew up calling him uncle anyway.
"And then I met this other tiger hybrid named, Taehyung." You said reminiscing those times that seemed so faraway. "He took me in and well.."
How do you say this?
Before you could decide, Hyungmin grabbed your shoulders forcefully through the iron bars, catching you completely off guard.
"He didn't force you to do something with him, did he?" He demanded, an unknown fire in his eyes.
"N-No he didn't, uncle." You responded softly. He sighed then released his grip.
"Good. And you know, you don't have to call me uncle anymore, just Hyungmin is fine."
"That'll be weird." You admitted hesitantly.
"I know, but it's for the best you get used to it. Since, you know.." His voice trailed off.
"Since what?" You inquired.
"Since we're getting married."
You nearly choked, and if you had been drinking water, you would have spat it out.
"Are you serious about that?" You gaped at the aging man, "You're my uncle!"
"Close family friend," he pointed out, "I'm sure your parent's would've improved, especially since our species' survival depends on it."
"I-I'm sure, but-!" You started to protest, but figured you should cut straight to the point, "I-I'm already mated t-to him."
Hyungmin's nostrils flared, "To who." But you were certain he already knew.
"T-Taehyung."
It was silent for several minutes, neither of you moved or showed any emotion. In truth, you were terrified. Yoongi's words came back to haunt you.
"...as far as you know you are the last human being. But who knows there might be some male human looking for you. Can you imagine his horror if he were to discover you threw your whole species away by mating with a hybrid?"
Would the outcome be different?
If you had known?
"And by mated you mean..." At the sudden words from Hyungmin, you looked up, only to look down again. He seemed to be searching your reaction, waiting for you to say 'just kidding', but that never happened. You just wished you could hold his gaze for longer, at least that way he wouldn't get the impression that you regretted your decision. Your lack of answering was enough for him to get a mental picture. Hyungmin stood up and you lifted his gaze to look up at him, his face was contorted in disgust. Without saying anything, he stormed out of the room, making sure he slammed the door on his way out.
"Oh god.." You exhaled a shaky breath. You hadn't even told him the best part yet. You placed a soft hand over your belly.
