{Third person POV}
Authors note: this takes place about a month and a half after Albert and Lana's breakup.
Albert was just waking up when his alarm went off. "Uuuuhhhhgg I never use an alarm, why the heck-" Then he remembered. "AAHH I NEED TO GET UP" He threw his blanket on the ground, not even bothering making his bed. He remembered he bought tickets to go to Ohio to see Jake! He was really excited, after all, they are best friends.
"Ok, my suitcase is packed, where's my passport.." Albert started digging through his things, trying to find his passport, which is also where he left the ticket. "Found it!" He opened the passport to see his ticket, which was closed neatly inside. Relief washed his whole body. "Haaa I thought I lost this.." He said to himself. He checked the time. "5:46, huh? I'd better get going, I don't wanna miss the plane." He quickly posted on Twitter and Instagram that he wasn't going to be uploading because he's going on "vacation". People immediately started commenting like, "why did you put quotation marks around vacation?" And "Oh, where are you going?" He liked a few, some where funny, some completely serious.
He walked downstairs, completely forgetting he needs breakfast until his stomach growls at him. "Uuooh, I need food" He said to himself. He grabbed a bowl out of the cabinet and some milk from the fridge, then he poured in the cereal. "Mmmmmmm, milk, lemme get some." He opened the fridge and a confused expression was plastered onto his face. "Where in the heck is the milk.." he turned around and saw it on the table. "Oooooohhh... I already put it down! My memory, bruh." He began pouring the milk into the bowl and got a spoon. With swift bites and munches, he finished the cereal and went upstairs again to get dressed. His phone was blown up by texts from Jake. "Oh, should've brought my phone down with me, I guess." He picked up the phone and entered his passcode.
Their messages went like this:
A: sorry dude I was eating breakfast.
J: D U D E. Where are you going?
A: I can't tell you 🙃
J: but Albert, we tell each other everything!
A: it'd ruin the surprise. 🙃
J: what do you mean??Albert stopped responding. He'd tell him to pick him up at the airport when he got there, or at least neared it so he didn't have to waste his battery trying to be not bored. He picked up his passport and looked at the ticket inside again. "Bro I look like a drug dealer lmao" He called an Uber to take him to the airport, it showing up a lot earlier than he expected.
"Where you going?" The girl in the front said. "To the airport please." "Ok." She spoke quickly, something was up. Albert felt a bit awkward. He played with his phone, absolutely out of it. The girl was playing the same music Lana liked- oh wait. Lana... Albert remembered Lana, how she used to try and get him into that type of music. "H-hey, what's your name.?" He asked. The girl in the front hesitated. "You sure you wanna know?" "Umm, depends?" He looked up from his phone. She sighed and turned the rear view mirror. "Lana. It's me." Albert somewhat flinched at the mentioning of Lana's name.
"No, your not Lana.." Albert croaked. "Look at me, Al. I am, I'm sorry, but sorry probably isn't enough for you." Albert didn't respond. He looked out the window, watching all the houses fly by. "Look Lana, I don't wanna talk about the breakup. I hope your happy with Leon. You two still got married, right.." He said plainly. Lana looked at the rear view mirror for a moment, then back at the road. "No, we didn't. He was upset I didn't tell him, so we called off. I didn't deserve getting married." The rest of the ride was silent. Albert was tearing up, despite him trying not too. Lana just sighed and accepted Albert wouldn't talk about it.
