I lay on the ground, panting. I can barely breathe.
"GET UP EVAN!" Navino yells.
I slowly get to my feet. I hardly slept last night, and today is the first whole day of training. All day I have been throwing lightning bolts and summoning clouds. Navino is pissing me off. None of the other Sparks are working this hard.
I want to shock him.
I've been assigned a training partner. His name is Mike. He doesn't talk much and he always has this blue notebook with him. He arrived a week ago. We work on the same things together. The training session is almost over, and then I have to go to a class about the rules. 'Fun'.
Everyone is starting to walk out of the room I follow the Natural, Emma, she told me her name, and Mike, who is a Spark.
"Evan."
Navino calls me. He doesn't look angry.
I run back to him.
"Look Evan. I know that I am working you very hard, and that is only because you are just starting," He is sincere but I know he is hiding something. "You are progressing very quickly, and by the end of the month, you will most likely be in the highest class, and begin training with other Elementals." he whispers to me. "Good job today."
"Thank you Navino."
I turn and catch up with Mike and Emma.
