Chapter 11

I hear the voices again. They are telling me that the power has to stop. I say back to them, "This...Thing. I can't control it. It keeps getting stronger. Its going to get dangerous soon if I can't stop it. I don't want to hurt people. It keeps happening. I don't want this, but I'm stuck with it."

The voices are gone.

"Evan! You're awake!" I hear Emma's voice, but I can't quite see her. Everything is still fuzzy, like when I released my power in the field at home.  

"What happened?" I ask.

"Nobody knows Evan! All we know is that you were found passed out behind one of the buildings, Mike is missing, and a Frost, a Dark, an Aqua, a Blaze, a Sky, a Natural, and a Light. That means an Elemental of each category is missing."

"I remember chasing Mike, and there was a Frost, Aqua, and Dark. That's all." I don't want to tell her about the power.

"Why were you chasing Mike?" she asks me.

"The storm had just started, and we had to go inside, but Mike ran behind one of the buildings. I followed him, but he  kept on avoiding me. I heard him talk into a walkie talkie, saying, "We need to do it now". Mike ran around another corner, and when I turned a corner, a Frost froze my feet, then a Dark shot me with dust. As I was blacking out I saw one them fall."

"Why did he fall?" she asks.

Great, now I have to tell her.

"Sometimes, when there are storms, my Spark energy goes out of control. I came here because I struck my teacher with lightning. When I was out in a field, and there was a storm, I set the whole field on fire. When there was a big clap of thunder during the storm, my arm lit up with elctricity without me making it."

Emma looks shocked. I'm afraid I may have scared her. I knew I shouldn't have told her.

"Does anybody else know?" she whispers to me.

"Possibly Navino. That's it." I say as I realize that's why he has been working me extra hard, that's why I have been progressing so quickly.

"Oh my gosh. What's going to happen to me. What if they come for me again?" The panic is starting to set in.

The door bursts open. Navino is hurtling towards me.

"Emma! Get out!," Emma runs out of the room, looking scared. "Evan! You've been possessed by it. Your... power, it comes to an Elemental once every hundred years or so. They are coming to get it. We have to hide you!"
