16: Let Me Go

Later that night...

10:56 p.m.

"You over there snapping pictures. I thought you was gonna let me massage ya feet mama?" Jasper said watching as Mia stood in the mirror snapping photos. "Tamia..." He called her name.

"I hear you Jasper."

"So can you come here so my baby can stop staring at you." He said looking at their five month old daughter Karlee who was waiting on her mother about to crawl over to her.

Mia cracked a smile staring at Karlee who perked up Looking as if she was ready to meet her mother halfway.

Jasper sat there on the floor watching his babygirl with such admiration on his face. While he'd always wanted a big family he thought that after being hurt by Dominique he no longer wanted anymore kids. That dream of having a lot of them had been crushed by a woman he once thought he'd spend forever with. While he wasn't ready to love anyone else he'd let himself fall for Dominique he loved being a father and he loved Mia for giving him something to focus on after he'd decided to step back from being a Chiropractor.

Mia had disappeared earlier today and it left Jasper in a fucked up mood because all he could do was think about how much of a disaster last night had been. All he could do was think of how he'd put his hands on her again. He always felt bad about that but it broke him down deeper than he'd ever been broken down before because he could now see what he was doing was wrong. His apologies were genuine and he wanted to stop but he'd been hurting her for a year now and had grown stuck in his ways. He was ashamed to ask for help and let someone know that he was physically abusive because he'd been raised better than this. He didn't want to be looked at as a man who beat on women when he knew that before this person he'd never even thought about laying a hand on a woman. He'd shed tears to her last night for the first time ever and what Mia thought was him lying to get her to stay was him breaking down because he didn't know how to stop.

He'd embarrassed her last night when it had came out that he'd slept with Parker a few times. He'd always had control over her body so he thought that sex would smooth it over a bit last night. What he didn't know was that she'd gotten out of bed in the early hours of the morning and murdered the woman she felt was stopping him from loving her. After killing Parker she'd cleaned herself up and returned home slipping back into bed.

Dominique had shown up today and had tried to sleep with him but he'd snapped on her and literally pushed her out of his home. He could never allow himself to go there with her again ever. Once she'd given her body to another man all of that sexual attraction he'd once had for her had went away. While she was a beautiful woman, she just didn't do it for him anymore. He was more so turned off by her behavior because he wondered if that's how she'd thrown herself at other men when they were married.

"Hi pretty girl." Mia walked over to Karlee who just sat there staring at her mother.

"Hi." She picked her up kissing her chubby cheeks.

Jasper grunted pulling himself to his feet. He was still healing from the deep cup that Mia had given him last night when she'd cut him with the scissors.

"Thought you were gonna let me cater to you tonight." He wrapped his arms around Mia who held Karlee over her shoulder. Karlee giggled and Jasper cracked a smile kissing her forehead before kissing the top of Mia's.

"Hey daddy baby. What's funny hm?" He asked her watching as she drooled all over her mother who rubbed her back. He exhaled deeply closing his eyes as he rocked them both in his arms.

"I love you Jasper." Mia said snuggling their baby in her arms. "I want you but if you don't want me then let me go. I'm tired of you hurting me." She told him.

"I'm sorry." He said truthfully. "So sorry baby."

For a year now he'd been lying telling her he loved her as if he was in love with her. It wasn't that he didn't want to be. It was that he'd had his heart broken before and didn't know how to let himself fall in love again without being fearful of being hurt again. He slept around and entertained other women because that was easier than allowing himself to love and let someone love him.

"Please stop hurting me." Her eyes watered as Karlee held on to her resting her head on her shoulder. She'd started drifting off to sleep. Mia turned around and stared up at him with tear filled eyes. "Are you gonna stop? I can't keep doing this. If you aren't serious then please just let me go." She sniffled as more tears fell. Jasper stared at her resting his hand on her cheek looking at their child.

Looking back into Mia's eyes he said "I want you to marry me."
