Ch. 22 Filler

That same night..

11:03 p.m.

Jasper sat in the hospital waiting room with his knee bouncing uncontrollably as he waited to hear from someone about Karlee who had to be rushed to the hospital because of an "accident" tonight. He'd left Koren and Kylah at home with his mother but his father Terrance had come along to the hospital with him to be there for his son. Jordyn sat beside him holding his hand as her head rested on his shoulder staring across the room at Mia who paced back and forth as if she was really concerned.

It was taking everything in Jasper to keep his composure because he'd been told by Mia that this was all an accident. He was trying to change and not react because if he reacted he was going to lay hands on her. He wanted to wait for answers from a professional. Jordyn's mind drifted off to what she'd walked in on tonight before they'd all ended up at the hospital.

"Mia— oh my God Mia what the fuck are you doing?!??" Jordyn screamed racing into the bathroom to see Mia kneeled down in front of the tub. "OH MY GOD!" She grabbed Mia throwing her back seeing Karlee underneath the water. She hadn't been under long but she wasn't conscious.

Jordyn immediately picked her up out of the water. "WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO?!" She went off on Mia as she sobbed. Mia sat on the floor with her back against the wall and a cold look in her eyes watching as Jordyn raced out of the bathroom with Karlee to call for help.

She was snapped out of her thoughts hearing her father talking to Jasper as he sat on the other side of him.

"Everything gon' be alright son." Terrance said patting Jasper's shoulder trying to comfort him. Even though he was just as worried about his grandchild he wasn't going to let that show because his son needed him to be strong for him.

"My baby.." Jasper's voice cracked as he became more and more emotional the longer he waited to hear any information back about what condition Karlee was in. Jordyn never took her eyes off Mia watching her pace the waiting room floor biting her nails. Mia locked eyes with her and Jordyn looked down squeezing Jasper's hand. Jordyn knew the truth but she'd listened to Mia's lie about putting Karlee in the tub for a bath and turning her head away just for a few seconds only to see that her child had accidentally slipped underneath the water. She lied saying that she panicked for a second seeing her child drowning but that once she snapped out of the frozen state she was in that she'd quickly pulled her out of the water. Those were all lies.

Seeing a doctor walking towards them Jasper quickly stood up and his father and Jordyn grabbed him before he could make another move.

"Relax son." Terrance told him.

"Is this the family of Karlee Rae Madlock?" Dr. Munn asked as he searched their worried faces.

"What's going on?" Mia fake panicked about their daughter's condition. "Is my baby okay? When can I see her?"

"Can you take us to her??" Jasper asked on the verge of crying. His eyes were watery and there was a lump in his throat that refused to go anywhere. One of his worse fears was losing any of his children. It was one reason he was so overprotective of them all. They were apart of him and no matter what mistakes he'd made that didn't take away from him being a great father to his children.

Dr. Munn looked down for a second before looking back at them. "We did everything we cou—"

"NO!" Jordyn let out the most horrific scream as tears flooded her eyes and she watched Jasper lose his balance as if he was about to pass out. Terrance caught his son helping him over to the chairs as he just broke down. The waiting room was filled with nothing but heartbroken sobs. Sobs so bad that even the hospital staff broke down. Mia put on a show crying playing the role of the heartbroken mother knowing that she'd murdered her own child. She squatted down in front of Jasper. His head rested on his father's shoulder as his father held him shedding tears of his own. It was if Jasper was a little boy again who needed his father's protection.

"Jasper.." Mia sobbed placing her hand on his leg.

"Get away from me Mia." He sniffled hardly able to see anything with his vision so blurred by the tears in his eyes. He pushed her hand off of him sitting up straight rocking back and forth in his chair licking away the fresh tear that had just slid down his face avoiding eye contact with her.

"It was an accident Jasper. She was my child too!" She sniffled.

"Get away from me. Yo, get the fuck away from me."

"Jas—"

"GET AWAY FROM ME!" He jumped up startling Mia who fell back sitting on the floor looking up at him. "Somebody get this hoe away from me before I kill her!" He balled up his fists and his father wrapped his arms around him pulling him back. "GET HER AWAY FROM ME BEFORE I KILL HER! ON MY CHILDREN I'LL MURDER THIS BITCH! GET HER AWAY!" He yelled startling the whole room as his father and Jordyn pulled him out of the hospital before he hurt her.
