Pre-camp

Being 1st years and in the first semester everyone is worried about the upcoming exams and practical but we were least bothered about it. We started counting our count down. For all of us, this camp going to be the first stay away from home.

Now we have gathered in Ramya's home to finalise the dance performance for the cultural event at the Camp. It was a Sunday and the count down is 2 days.

We have prepared 2 groups of dance and Vaishu prepared for one Solo dance. By around 6 in the evening, we wrapped up the practice. We were confident that we will give a decent performance.

The group dance is for a classical song(margali thingal alava)

Vaishu doesn't want to go for a simple choreography so she came up with a concept that Ramya will be Lord Krishna, myself and Vaishu are two girls who will be fighting for the love of Krishna. It has a fun element which will be the highlight of our performance.

We happily went back home with the satisfaction that we will give a fair fight in the camp to win the overall championship.

By this time we have one more NCC bestie in our group "Mathi". She and Ramya are classmates. She is not the crazy type like Vaishu and Ramya. She is sweet, innocent and disciplined, only a small smile in her face for all the action. We became close easily, she looks like a lost puppy and I feel like I have to take care of her. I had a wish that we 4 will definitely get selected for the RDC camp and we stay together, always.

Camp.

We all started for the camp and we reached the camp location. The annual camp is organised in a school, where students from different schools and college were gathered.

Each college or school will be grouped under 4 houses Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and Delta. The grouping is based on the region where the college and schools were located. We were in the Delta team and we have some more students from a different college.

Few second-year seniors from our college also accompanied us for this camp, second-year girls' seniors were so annoying and it was really hard to tolerate them. They speak about perfection when they were miles away from it.

The only good thing about seniors accompanying us is that Aravind represented from the boy's side. I was feeling happy but I am not gonna tell anyone.🥰

We were all staying in the school dorm(actually a classroom) and us 4 along with with Shalini and 2 more girls from the other college share a room. (A/N yeah it's NCC camp you can't expect to have 1 room for 2 people).

It was almost 2 in the noon when everyone came and settled. The first day went well and there was nothing much we did other than usual giggle and excitement.

I woke by 5:15 since we have to gather on the ground by 6 for our morning sports training. When everyone was getting ready, our sleepy ass Vaishu was still in the bed. It was the 4th time she said "please 5 more mins" and sleeps soundly.

After we all get ready, I and Mathi have prepared her sports uniform, shoe and I gave a good slap on her back to wake her up.

Finally, she woke up and went straight to the bathroom and came back in 5mins and got ready in 5mins." I really don't understand how you do everything this fast."

She replied "Because I have this super friend who takes care of my everything so my only job is to get ready" with that she blows a kiss in the air.😘

I made a disgusting face and we all went to the ground. One officer came and asked us to run 5 rounds as a warmup, Once, we completed that, he asked us to play some games.
