Chapter 8

**Corinna's POV**

-A Few Years Later-

Today is my 13th birthday and I'm really excited. I'm finally a teenager. Carrie and Mike have been treating me very well. I love them as if they were my birth parents. I wonder what they have planned for today.

"My baby is growing up. I can't believe your a teenager" Carrie says and I just giggle.

"I know, I remember adopting you like it was just yesterday" Mike says

"I'm so excited about being a teenager! Do I get a phone now?" I ask

"Maybe, we'll think about it" Carrie says.

"Fine..." I say "So what are we doing today?"

"Well, your having your party and that's about it" Carrie says

"Alright" I say.

"You should get ready. Everyone is gonna be here in a few minutes" Mike says.

I walk upstairs and look through my closet. I put on a pair of dark blue skinny jeans and a purple top. I fishtail braid my hair to the side then walk downstairs. Everyone is here. I'm so excited.

We all talk for awhile and they all wish me a happy birthday and then we eat cake.

"Time for presents" Mike says.

"Yay" I say excitedly.

"Save ours for last" Carrie says.

I open all my presents except for mom and dads. I mostly just got money from everyone.

"Can I open yours now?" I ask

"Yeah" Carrie says with a smile on her face. I open the present from them and it's an iPhone.

"Thank you so much" I say hugging my parents.

"We have one more present for you, but it's not something you can open" Carrie says.

"What is it?" I ask.

"I'll be right back" Mike says.

I impatiently wait for what seems like eternity until dad comes back with Luke Bryan! I'm speechless. Is this actually happening? I'm meeting Luke Bryan!

"Hi, I'm Luke Bryan" Luke says

"I-I know who you are" I stutter.

Luke chuckles and says "Happy Birthday Corinna"

"Thank you" I smile.

"Luke's gonna sing" Mama says

"Yayyy!" I say "Oops did I say that out loud?"

"Yeah, ya did" Mike says.

Luke sang a few songs and we all chatted and before we knew it, it was time for everyone to leave.

"Goodbye, thank you so much for coming y'all" I say, waving goodbye. Now it's just Mama, dad, and I.

"Thank you so much. This has been the best birthday ever. I love you guys" I say hugging them.

"We love you too" Carrie says. "We have big news to tell you"

"Alright. What is it?" I ask. Carrie grabs Mike's hand.

"I'm pregnant" Carrie says. My face becomes red. Why doesshe have to be pregnant! This is horrible. I love being the only child. I thought she couldn't even have kids! I run up to my room and lock the door. They just ruined my day.
