Adora knew she probably should have told people that she was going offline. A simple message on her Instagram story would have sufficed. Maybe she should have texted a group chat. Maybe she should have told people how they could reach her, just in case something had happened. But if she was being honest it was a little bit too late for that now. She did need this. If someone truly wanted to contact her, they would find a way.

So there she was, curled up on the couch in a bright pink blanket with horses all over it. She never did grow out of the horsey phase. Her kitten, Wolfy, or Salem as she had wanted to name it, was curled up on her chest, purring as Adora pet her. And in that precise moment, her doorbell rang. She ignored it, too many door-to-door salesmen these days. She stayed quiet as the footsteps receded, only to see Catra peeking through the curtains seconds later. Adora didn't want to hide, couldn't move, lest she would disturb the half-asleep kitten resting on top of her.

Catra knocked on the window loudly, "Adora, I can see you"

"The key's underneath the potted plant on the windowsill," Adora said just loud enough for her to hear. There were some rustling noises as the plant was picked up, almost dropped and then not-so-gently placed back on the windowsill. The door clicked open.

"Do you have any idea how worried I was, I thought you were dead in a ditch somewhere! Why didn't you answer my calls?" Catra ranted for a couple of minutes before Adora managed to get a word in, presumably halfway through her rant.

"I needed a break"

"Why didn't you tell me though, I could've helped."

"I'm sorry, I didn't think of that"

The truth was that Adora hadn't wanted to see Catra, she was one of the big things that Adora was unsure of right now. Did that make sense? Her train of thought was cut off when Catra plopped down on the couch. Her heart jumped into her throat when she noticed exactly how close they were right now. God, why was life so damn confusing? She tried to shift away so that the tingly feeling in her stomach would go away, but to no avail. She was backed into a corner. And she didn't want to wake Wolfy. No, Salem. The Kitty would start mewling and would stop until she got all the treats and all the petting she wanted.
