Footsteps Part 3

Zion has been going through it the past year, after his breakup with Kennedy he didn't know how to cope, he tried ignoring it, he tried moving on, he tried to force himself into forgetting her but no matter what he did his thoughts always focused back on her.

He was hurting and it was his own fault, he thought he would be able to let go, telling himself that if they were really meant for each other they would find their way back but after awhile he couldn't stand not having her in his life, he tried reaching out and Kennedy had blocked him on all her social media accounts after he kept direct messaging her trying to win her back, he was blocked on iMessage and he was pretty sure she blocked his emails he wasn't sure how that was possible but it was.

Edwin told him countless times he was acting like "a fucking lunatic" and maybe he was right. Maybe it was time to give up and try again to fall in love with someone else, He was gearing up to give his heart to somebody else when an instagram notification popped up on his phone, he slid The notification bar down and his heart started beating a thousand times a minute. Kennedy had sent him a message on Instagram. She unblocked him.

He opened the message and read it:

"Imnotkennedy: you're formerly invited to join me for my graduation party, May 25th 2019 8 o'clock see you there!

He wanted to cry she reached out to him and invited him to one of the biggest events in her life, he wanted to respond, say thank you or something for unblocking him and allowing him to be apart of her life again, he was excited to see her the party was tonight meaning that he was invited in a last minute spare of the moment decision but that didnt matter what mattered was that she even thought to invite him.

He got up from his bed, walking to his closet and finding something to wear he wanted to look good, after finding an outfit he set it out on the bed sitting down and letting his mind wander over if he was really ready to see kennedy again, he had an hour and a half to get ready before the party so he called Edwin and told him to hurry up back to their dorm

When edwin got there he walked in to Zion mumbling to himself and pacing back and forth

"Yo zion you good bro?" Edwin asked as he shut the room door behind him, Zion looked up at edwin

"Idk if I can do this man, what if she doesn't really want to see me? What if the message was an accident?"

"What the hell are you talking about z" Edwin was lost as hell what the hell happened in the two hours he was gone

"She messaged me, Kennedy messaged me an invitation to her party and I am freaking the fuck out" he plopped down on the bed and pulled out his phone, pulling up the ig message and showing it to edwin

"You going?" Edwin asked him, he wasn't sure if Zion going to the party was a good idea, Kennedy left Zion for all the right reasons for her and Edwin doesn't blame her for that but she also Zion was so wrecked after their breakup he wasn't sure if him seeing her again and possibly getting rejected would help his friends current state

"I was thinking about it, but what if she wasn't actually inviting me? What if she accidentally sent it?" His mind was racing with a hundred different possibilities about what the invitation could mean

Edwin hated seeing his best friend like this, he didn't want him to go and get his feelings hurt but he also knew that he needed the closure of him and Kennedy so he could move on "Bro, go to the party and talk to her or get kicked out or whatever will happen, you deserve the closure on that part of your life" .
