❗️This chapter is situated 6 months ago as it is a flashback of their relationship.

"Really?" Evelyn grumbles a little as she's trying to focus on finishing a drawing for her assignment while Noen sits behind her and fumbles with her raven hair.

The two were both on the carpet, sitting cross legged ( indian style?), there was a big window opened as the wind blew in lightly, since it was a rather hot day.

Noen was balancing his phone on his thigh, watching some tutorial of how to braid hair, since he had literally nothing better to do.

"What? Did I pull too hard?" He asks in a light tone, tiny bit concerned since he didn't want to hurt his girlfriend.

"No, it's fine..." She just sighs and shrugs it off, he's not really interrupting her anyways. Evelyn liked it when Noen played with her hair or massaged her back, it soothed her mind and made her relax. Besides, he always dicked around with her hair, he either brushed it or played with it when he'd get bored, it's a whole hobby.

Her locks slip through his fingers smoothly as he brushes her hair gently, collecting it from her neck and pressing a few soft kisses along her jawline. Noen's a very loving boyfriend, always giving so much attention, sometimes even too much. He's just so all over her all the time, it's cute.

Evelyn on the other hand always had trouble opening up and being as affectionate as Noen. However she loved him just as much if not more, the boy was a blessing in her life and she acknowledged that.

Half an hour goes by and Noen finally makes a cute braid, making Evelyn stop what she's doing and clap for him while the boy is all smiles and shy when his girl appreciates his doings.

He wraps his arms around her waist from the back, resting his chin on the crook of her neck, watching her draw in awe. The girl was pretty talented and smart, she knew her strengths and weaknesses and Noen always bragged to his friends that his girlfriend is smarter than all of them combined.

"What a pretty butterfly.." He comments.

"Yeah? Reminds me of you."

"What? Noo, stop." He buries his face in her neck while chuckling.

"You stop." She laughs as he squeezes her waist a bit.

"Are you hungry, baby?" He asks.

"A little bit, you?"

"Yeah, I should go make something."

"Jesus- don't burn anything like last time."

"EXCUSE ME?" Noen gasps very dramatically, acting all butthurt.

"Oh lord. Okay, okay. I'm sorry, you're the chef." She puts her hands up in defence with a smile.

"Yeah, that's right." He nods confidently before pressing a few more kisses to her neck. "What do you want to eat?"

"Surprise me, chef." She chuckles with a shrug before looking back at him for a kiss. They're epitome of a cringy couple.

The two kiss and play around a few minutes more before he hops on his feet and hurries off to the kitchen, leaving Evelyn to her assignment.

The fridge got pulled open as Noen inspected the contents of it, it was half full so he could make a few things. But in the end he decided on pasta.

He took out a pot and filled it with water, setting it on the stove, making himself some tea in the progress before pouring the spaghetti in the pot once the water started boiling.

While he was making the food, his phone which was set on the kitchen's counter started buzzing. It was his mom.

"Hello?"

"Noen? How are you, when are you going to drop by?"

"Oh I'm alright, making some food for Evelyn and I. I'll come around maybe Friday? I'm not sure."

"Oh, Evelyn. How's she doing, I haven't seen her in awhile."

"Yeaaah, she's alright. Doing some assignment for her studies." He answered as he stirred the pot a bit and dropped some salt in.

"Oh jesus, she works so hard. You should go on a vacation with her for the holidays."

"Yeah, she does. Maybe, I don't know, we'll have to think about it. "

"Okay well call me on Friday if you're coming by, I'll make you your favorite."

"Okay mom, talk to you later." He hangs up with a smile before resuming to cook the topping for the pasta.

Noen really tried hard this time not to make Evelyn gag from his cooking and it turned out alright, it was all too perfect.

Until his phone buzzed again, it wasn't his mother this time. An unknown number.

"Hello, this is Noen speaki-"

"Noen?"

That voice. He's heard it before, it's so painfully familiar.

"N-noah?" His brows furrow as he puts the spoon down, walking to the other side of the kitchen, fingers brushing through his hair in a nervous manner.

"Noen, can we meet please? Please I-"

"Wait what? You're in town?"

"Yes... and I want to meet, please just-"

"Okay, but... I have a girlfriend now, I can't just-"

"Don't care, this has been eating me away from the inside, we need to talk-"

"But I-"

"I'll call you later, I have to go."

"Noah, wait-" The line went flat.

Noen stood there, staring at his phone in a broken and confused manner. What just happened? The boy sat down, trying to process. The memories and flashbacks of this girl started polluting his mind, he couldn't think straight anymore. He's worked so hard to forget her and she just shows up again.

Noen clears his throat and gathers himself, saving the number and putting the food into the plates, for himself and Evelyn.

"Oh you're back. And you didn't burn anything. Wow I'm impressed." She smiles at Noen, complimenting him as he hands her the plate.

Noen sits there, looking at his girlfriend as he's lost his appetite. He's not even touched his food as Evelyn digs in and hums in satisfaction since it's actually edible this time.

His heart breaks... again. Noah, Noah, Noah....
