chapter 1

Brianna and her friends Drey, Emrys and Berte just finished writing their last subject. They walked out of the school campus with mixed feelings.

Bri, Bert and Drey hoping to have at least 'B's is all five subjects and Emrys in all four subjects.
What they really prayed for were
'A' grades. Yeah those girls were so ambitious. They nonetheless new having 'A's would be hard since the exams were not that easy. Besides they knew their essays had some lapses. But still they had hope.

"Thank God this is all over!!!" Bri exclaimed with a silly grin across her face.

"Wow I can't believe this stuff is over! Good bye sleepless nights because of studies yeahhh" Bert screamed jumping with her hands in the air.

"For now girl, for now" Drey added making that serious face of hers.

"Ahh stop pretending miss" Emrys said, playfully pushing her with her elbow. "We all know how happy you are. We just hope the results would be super cool" she added looking at the sky as if asking God if he heard her.

The girls kept walking and talking about everything and anything till they got to the street were Emrys had to board the cap that got to her Street. She hugged the girls so tight.

"Hey girl are you trying to kill us?" Drey asked making a silly face. They all burst out laughing. "See ya pretties" Emrys said waving goodbye. "Bye prettiest" the girls said in unison.

Emrys was the fairest of them all. She had raven black hairs, pretty hazel eyes, pink lips and a broad beautiful smile. No wander most of the boys fell for her. She loved looking good, she always looked good.she was pretty, so pretty. In spite of being a petite she was still so gorgeous.

Brianna was the next to leave. She had a frail beauty. She considered herself the ugliest of their group. She had black hairs and pretty brown eyes. She was a petite just like Emrys.

"Hey don't be silly to dad okay? Be good girls because I'll have an eye you all. Got it???" She warned trying to copy a sweet soft caring mother's voice.

"Okay mummyyy" the girls answered. She hugged the girls goodbye as they laughed at their silliness before turning left to get to her Street.

Bert was a few inches taller than Emrys and Bri. She too was fair, but not as fair as Emrys. She had brown hairs and light brown eyes. she was pretty and had long legs. Yes those legs boys could die for. She was so funny. You'd never get bored around her, unless she was sick or not 'in the mood'. She too hugged Drey before taking a left turn to her house.

Drey was the tallest of them all. She had a French accent and a broad beautiful smile too. She was as fashionable as Emrys. She had black hairs and brown eyes. She was beautiful yeah and she always had ready words in her mouth to reply to everyone. By ready words I mean the good, the bad and the annoying.

She got into a cab staring blankly at the road. Thinking about how live would be in a couple of months.

Bri slowed her pace as she got closer to her house. She was certainly glad she was completing high school, yeah she was certain she would make it in her exams. But the problem was, was she ever going to further her studies? How was that going to happen?.

Her family went bankrupt after their father passed. They were passing through a lot. And college was very expensive.
She looked towards the sky and hoped that God was planning something for her.

"Chill girl you gonna make it, we all gonna make it" Phil said beside her, putting his arm on her shoulders.

"Gosh Phil you startled me! Why'd you do that for?"

"Hahaha sorry girl. You shouldn't zone off when walking on the street you know, you might get kidnapped" he said with a smirk.

"Yeah you're right, I forgot I was the princess of Tamara" Bri said mimicking a princess' way of walking, waving at an invisible crowd.

"Haha you're so silly"
"No I'm sarcastic"
"Also yeah, so how was it today baby?"

"Well was good, I'd say I was well prepared for it. I guess" Brianna said with a genuine smile on her face.

The previous paper was not a good one. Considering the fact that she almost cried in the hall and she actually cried her self out when she got home, blame fear for that.

"So why the long face? Cheer up girl" Phil encouraged.

"Cheer up? Seriously Phil?" She stopped walking, turned around and faced him.

"How on earth I'm I going to be happy? When I know that all my friends will be leaving in a couple of months". He gave her a sad understanding look.

"Coupled to that I know I'm kinda not going to continue with y'all and... and I have that creepy guy who is ready to sponsor me and stuff" she put her head in her palms groaning.

"Hold on a sec" phil held her shoulders so that she would look at him in the eyes.

"Shouldn't you be happy? I mean he's ready to sponsor you girl! That's a golden opportunity right??"

He smiled at her. She gave him a short smile before releasing a rough breath

"Yeah it certainly is dear but I don't feel comfortable with it. He's been acting super weird lately... Like h-he's crushing on me"

He just stared at her.

"My instincts Phil, my instincts" she answered his unasked question.

"Oh" was all what he had to say as they continued walking in silence.
He knew Bri too well, as such he knew how strong her instincts were, they never failed her. And as for that guy crushing or probably crushing on her, it was just not going to be easy.

He was the first to break the silence "let's put that aside for now, okay?" Brianna nodded while opening the door to her humble home.
