Ryu's POV

"A seventh Sun Dress or Coord! Can you believe it?!" Kazuno exclaims as the whole school gathers together for an assembly.

"I thought it was eight," Nico says.

"No, Luna has the moon dress," I correct. "I remember because I thought it was funny since her name is Luna and it's spanish for moon."

"So there's Yujin's Eternal Angel Coord," Mikan lists, "Beatriz's Eternal Fairy Coord, Zander's Eternal Blue Coord, Tori's Eternal Phoenix Coord, Tanoshi's Eternal Color Coord, Lex's Eternal Electric Coord, and Uli's Eternal Sunny Coord."

"It goes on for eternity," Nico jokes as we take our seats.

"But I have a bad feeling about this assembly," Kokoro comments.

"Me too," Ryo agrees.

I have to agree too. There's something about this that's giving off the 'dun-dun-dunn' feeling.

We wait for a few more moments, and then the headmaster walks onto the stage. "Attention, everyone," he says, giving everyone his usual glare ... or stare ... or normal look, "I have unfortunate news about the Aikatsu System. Yesterday, some of you might have been to Uli Taiyou's show and saw she had earned herself a Sun Coord. As great as that was, meer moments after, the Aikatsu System suffered a great surge of power and shut down. Scientist looked into it deep into the night but only came to a devastating conclusion: ... the Aikatsu System is dead."

"This can't be happening, this can't be happening, this can't be happening, this can't be happening," I say over and over as I sit on the ground and clutch my knees, cradling myself in front of the school's auditorium.

"How are we even supposed to react to something like this?" Nico asks.

"I don't know," Ryo replies.

"Does this mean we have to go home?" Kokoro asks.

"You mean they might close down Four Star Academy?!" I gasp, looking up. "They can't close down Four Star Academy! Will they close down Dream Academy too? Or what about Starlight? What will happen to Mei and Maria? What will happen to us?"

"There's no need to freak out, Ryu," Mikan says.

"I think this is an ideal time for freaking out," Kokoro says in a calm voice.

"She makes a good point," Nico agrees.

"Well I want to argue," Mikan says firmly. "Freaking out will make everything worse. No one can think straight when they're freaking out. I'm sure they won't close down any school just because the Aikatsu System isn't working."

"I believe the way headmaster put it was 'dead.'" Ryo comments. "And I'm sorry, but it doesn't sound like we'll ever get it back. I'm ... scared." Oh my poor child!

I stand up and put my arms around Ryo. "Me too," I say.

On the bright side, the weird power won't work without the Aikatsu System, right? Hime-sensei did say it came from the Aikatsu System so I could be safe! Maybe there is a good side to this.

"Why are you smiling?" Ryo asks, looking into my eyes while I still have my arms around him.

"Oh, um ... I don't know," I shrug. "I just love my friends so much I guess." Ryo blushes and starts to cry as Nico lets out a happy gasp.
