A thin dusting of snow had begun to fall across the world. By now, the day had bled into a quiet night, the sun had fallen beneath the horizon and the sky was shrouded by thick billows of dark stained cloud cover.  A few minutes prior, miniscule flakes of frozen water began drifting downward, chilling the already cold air and giving the air a stinging bite that clouded with every breath.

The curious (E/C) gaze of a shadowed creature flitted between the distant figures moving about their humble homes and navigating around the abundance of life in the town. You’d settled atop this distant cliff quite some time ago, sitting contently and simply observing the town; a sight unlike you’d ever seen anywhere before.

The town was full of humans, that much you’d expected. However you were more than surprised to discover what had to be hundreds of dragons that also resided here. How did you miss this? The peculiar circumstances of this village metaphorically glued you to your spot, rendering you unable to remove your attention.

Everything about this place seemed so strange, and perhaps you were stupid for it, however you felt as if you needed to know more, to figure out everything there was to know. Such an intense desire for knowledge should never go unfulfilled, right? Curiosity killed the Night Fury, they always say.

The humans bustled across the village, performing tasks and other jobs such as transporting goods, building strange objects and craftings. The dragons occupying the village often followed specific humans, as if they were particularly close or fond of that specific one. Though large species tended to settle down on the top of one of the buildings and keep their eye on which ever human it was they were attached to. Some of the humans had one of the tiny dragons perched atop their shoulders like a bird.

Such behavior intrigued you, having never seen such an interspecies relation before. And the humans obviously held the dragons in high regard as well. You’d spotted several dragons wearing similar strappings and pads of leather across their backs as the enthralling Night Fury you’d met just hours before.

Humans sitting on the backs of the hulking beasts and traveling with them, whether they were simply walking through the maze of a village or flying through the cold evening air. Stirring the gently descending snowflakes with the great power of their wings beating through the air.

While you'd never admit it, even to yourself, you had been scanning the hustling and bustling activity in hopes of gaining even a simple glimpse of that ebony stained dragon. With the vivid green eyes full of curiosity and vigor. Through the snow screen muffled view, you could see the amber and burnt orange colored scales and the massive horns belonging to one of the Monsterous Nightmares. And the brightly colored, vividly blue and yellow colors of a Nadder. Even a few species you'd seen never before. Big, hunkering and drowsy looking beasts peacefully wandering in their own meandering pace.

None of them stood out to you as much as you knew the Night Fury would. Causing a huff of discontentedness. From your solitary position you had easily noticed that as the night drew colder and the darkness grew in intensity, everyone in the village began to slow their previously busy actions. More and more starting to retreat into their homes for the night in order to fight off the bitter cold the faint snowfall brought. Some bringing their smaller dragons into their homes as well, the larger ones opted to retreat into separate buildings, joining many others from what little you could observe.

How bizarre, they just...live together? What's the exact nature of what's happening here?

You shifted your body and wings, shaking off some of the accumulated snow that had gathered on top of you from your lack of movement for so long. You'd barely even noticed how cold it'd gotten so quickly, being a cold blooded creature sure had it's disadvantages at times.
