Chapter 2

This morning I had to sit through a polo match with mom. Most of the Hamptons residents were there including the Greysons. Daniel was competing in the match which is one of the reasons we were there. Mom says he's part of the plan. Nolan was at the party and I went to talk to him. "Hey gorgeous." Nolan says.

"I missed you." I say pulling him into a hug.

"I missed you too Katy bear." I laughed at the nickname he gave me when I was little. Nolan was kind of like a crazy uncle to me. In fact before all of this I used to call him Uncle Nolan.

"I didn't realize you too were so close." Ashley said coming up behind me.

"Yeah well I haven't talked him in like 4 years. Nolan was friends with my dad." I say. Which was true after all.

"Your mom told me to tell you she went to talk to Daniel." Ashley says. Ashley doesn't like me all that much. We never became close like some of moms other friends.

"Ok." I reply going back to my conversation with Nolan.

"I'm sorry I haven't been around Katy." Nolan expressed a sad look.

"It wasn't your fault Nolan." I consoled him. He pulled me into another tight hug.

My mom was reading grandpa's journals like she does every night now. She also rewatched some of his trial. The landline rang and mom was brought out of her thoughts. When she hung up I asked her who it was. "Victoria asked me to come over for tea tomorrow afternoon." She replied vaguely.

"Good morning beautiful." My boyfriend, Josh, spoke when I answered the FaceTime call on my phone.

"Morning." I say looking at his gorgeous face.

"What are you up to today?" He asked with a smile.

"Nothing it's so boring here I haven't made any friends yet." I reply.

"Maybe I could drive out." He says with a huge smile.

"Really?" I ask raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah maybe spend a few days if that's ok with your mom."

"How could she say no?" I answer. I kept talking to him as I walked downstairs. "Mom?" I ask at the end of the stairs.

"Your mom went to Harmon investments she should be back soon." Nolan replied from the kitchen.

"What's up?" He asked. "Well I was going to ask her if Josh could stay here a few days." I answer.

"And who is that?" Nolan asks looking over at me.

"My boyfriend." I reply.

"When did my little Katy Bear get a boyfriend?" He asked making me blush. Josh was still on FaceTime and he started laughing.

"Katy Bear?" Josh asked.

"Shut up. Anyway Nolan can he come or not?" I ask with puppy dog eyes.

"I guess, but if your mom gets mad don't tell her I allowed it."

"Thank you Nolan." I say hugging him before I ran back upstairs to my room.

"See you in a while then." I say before Josh ends the FaceTime call. I decided to go shopping and get some new lingerie for Josh's arrival. Josh and I have been dating for almost a year now and even though he's living in the city during the summer we are determined to make it work. Before I left the house I put on dark wash Jean shorts and a flowy pink top. I grabbed my Gucci purse and went downstairs. My mom was sitting at the kitchen counter.

"Hey mom." I say before grabbing an apple from the fridge.

"Where are you going?" She asked.

"Shopping." I answer before walking out the front door. My mom would kill me if she knew I was going lingerie shopping mostly because I'm 15 but also because she doesn't know I'm having sex. Which I have been since Josh and I's 6 month anniversary. I had texted Nolan earlier for a ride and he was sitting in his car when I walked outside.
